mine last time also heat up damn fast... thanks to amba radiator! i exchange with him.... after using his radiator n water wetter coolant my bike nv heat up ani more even afternoon... Up amba's radiator!

Relax man. To err is human, to forgive, Divine! Havent been in this thread for afew days and so many outings already. Rvf mobilisation more active than civil defence and recall for army. haha. Hope to join you guys if i can make it.

 

Finally, someone complaining bout our bikes being hot. When i 1st got this bike, i was also very sensitive to the heat it produces. Thought something wrong. Went around touching other ppl bike frames after they stop. Bikes like cbr400, gsx400, cbr954... frames cooler than mine. Till the day i managed to touch 2 rvfs, and found that it was normal for our bike frame to produce this amt of heat. Maybe becoz of our engine configuration?

 

Read through and saw someone looking for rearsets. I got this 7 way adjustable rearset from thailand for only sgd170+! Cant believe rearset for less than 200. Lucky buy. The footpegs look abit shitty though. Its CNC machined from aluminium. Will post the pics once i find out how to add pics..

just to let u guys know, there was a cheap HRC mod done to that rad.....its not the thermostat, but the piping

Bro you can bring your bike to K&T for servicing. I can guarantee the service there is excellent and very professional. Alot of ppl here will agree with me too. But do call up first and make an appointment cus they quite busy. Speak to the boss, his name is Clifford. You can call the shop at 67455463.

Is it advisable to remove the thermostat even though it wont affect the other parts of the bike ? Most of you guys done it ??? Will it make much of a difference in terms of the lowering overheat, will installing just a fan switch just be enough without removing the thermostat ??? I still have to choke my bike in the morning to start it now....just worried if I remove the thermostat the bike won't start on a cold day....Advice ?

 

I am full of questions aren't I.... Thanks in advance broz... Will do my best to attend this friday's outing, hopefully I don't have to work till too late la and can get sat off, then sure be there...Never met anyone of u guys yet.... Let the V4s Roar.....!!!!

Removing thermostat helps to bring down the temp, cos some thermostats might be jammed and won't fully open, and your coolant won't flow effectively.

 

There is NO link between starting your bike on a cold day and thermostat. Thermostat only comes into the picture AFTER you have started the bike.
