1) What kind of overhaul? Did you repair/replace the starter motor/coil also? Could be a starter problem.

It could also be that your battery is flat. Does it crank well or weakly? Since u can push start, your plugs and engine should be ok.

2) Try warming to 55 degrees.

3) Keep the revs low for about 8km at first. Maybe under 8000. After that the engine should be fully warmed up and ready to rip.

This was my usual practice last time. I had a healthy engine.

I normally smoke a stick and the engine will heat up to around 60, perfect to move off... Don't move off when too cold, bad for the bike.

kowloon, did you turn off your petrol gauge when you leave your bike overnight??

most probably you left it on.. then you will have a hard start the next morning...

if that's the case, usually what i do is i'll just turn of the fuel tap and hold the e-start and turning the throttle at the same time..

i dunno if this works for you.. mayb others got their matter..

Eyz, yes i never turn off the petrol gauge coz i always forgot to turn it on again the next day and end up the engine died in the middle of the road. Normally it's ok only after the overhaul then it become a problem. But will try your method tonight. Ah boon advised me to do the same thing: that is to press the start and turn the throttle at the same time. I did that but no result. So now i have to push start my bike, everytime. sigh...

wish me luck!

I changed mine too at Ideal at only 90++.. tot it was already expensive...

Sorry, i changed my ignition starter in Ideal too, not Ah Boy. Yeah, Ahboon said it used to be $90 but the price increased again. Last time it was only $60!

I warm my bike up to at least 66 degrees C.

All the moving parts inside the engine were designed to work optimally at a certain temperature. The tolerance between the walls of the cylinder and piston are a perfect fit only at its operating temp.

If you start whacking the bike when its too cold, the parts havent expanded to fit each other perfectly, there'll be gaps inside. I think not only could you lose pressure, there're a hundred other things that could go wrong and you could damage something in the process.

Ronny,

I think push-start is damn gung-ho leh... true blue racer dude.....

heh hehh....

I'll seeya on Fri... will figure it out if we can....

Ride safe, guys!!

Anyone got any idea?

Becuming more and more "Gian" that arrow.

I posted an email to LTA and they called me. The guy told me arrow is approved le but it is for other bike model. not yet for rs 125 but he told me that once the emission report for arrow on rs 125 come out. we can put arrow le. but he asked me to contact biketech 21 to check for the emission report. Biketech 21 told me to wait for 1 to 2 weeks then contact them. by that time, we should be able to put arrow legally. but not sure how much la....

wow.. i almost forgot what lawrence and i intented to do...

i was too tied up with my study...

thanks dude for your initiative and the reply you got for us here looks very positive...

should we all stock up our arrow pipe at home now?? haha

but from the arrow website.. the new range of pipe for rs so called legal.. homologated = officially legal..

so i dunno whether are the current pipes that some of you guys are having approved.... nonetheless.. it's still a positive news...

whatever it is, i think lawrence and i will still do a write up to LTA requesting for use of the RS pipe.. cos we dunno whether is this milo kong still in production or not..

Count me in if after 10

It will be after 10 definitely. :p

Anyway, I'll leave it to Lacri to coordinate the Aprilia side. Who wanna go and all that.

There'll be a few big bikes heading up too, but don't worry, they're friendly. Greydium, SuperTZM and Lacri already know the route to take. So everyone can Own Time Own Target clear carbon on the NSH, and whack the corners on that u-turn. :D

Oh yah... BTW, did you know that you can actually continously do those 270 degree turns until you drop from exhaustion?? ;) They're all connected. U do 2 turns, u make a u-turn. U do 4.. you end up going back to where you started. You do 6... U-turn direction again.

Feel like blasting it 6 times tomorrow.... :p

Of course... meeting is subject to weather conditions hor....

i-dunno,

Good boy.... Just relax and let them pass.

No point playing with them. We're just normal riders, not racers. Hone your defensive riding/survival skills. Learn to be a better rider, if you wanna win, win where skills count, not engineering.

We'll never beat them on the straightways, but nothing short of an alien spacecraft will ever outrun an Aprilia in corners.

Ride hard, but ride safe.

eyz,

I've got a draft ready. Just simply telling LTA its very difficult to find stock milo cans in SG (which happens to be true), and everytime we decarbonise the pipe it costs $80-100. Also involves cutting the pipe and catalytic converter open blah blah blah....

Request to consider approval on the '02 RS pipe or Arrow system so it may help prolong pipe and engine life etc etc etc....

Not so much to pressure LTA, but since they waiting for Biketech21, I'll sorta 'update' them on our situation... Hope can squeeze some sympathy outta them.

Will prob email you for you to read it first....

Tonight pumping petrol in M'sia. Going thru NS Highway. Meeting at 2200hrs.

Venue not set. Will update thru SMS later.

Those interested to receive an SMS regarding tonight's ride,

pls SMS me at 9863 2724, include your SBF nick and real name.

Have a nice day.
