This applies to me as well Larrentino. Lawrence lives close enough to me. We could both head to Redhill together on Tues morning.

if i can see clearly thru my failing eyesight bro..theres hints of slight cold tear, meaning u didnt warm tyres up enough and started accellerating outta corners...running at 20psi is uber under pressure and only Michelins can run in that sort of pressure the others will probably overheat in few short laps causing slides at the rear and the front threatening to wash out ,in fact u can actually feel the front squirming even when just starting to ride the bike, the front will feel heavy.

its a good start, decent wear throughout.smooth riding...the acceleration wear is almost top center which means u are accellerating when bike is almost upright, next up try gassing once u lift the bike. n notice u have a chicken strip at the rear so do mine which means...??? its the wrong rear tyre size....

i have a pix here of 003 after 20mins tracktime..

haha i was following some big bike with michellin tires ... they say need to drop so i also drop lo. haha .. i'm on 22 front n 20 rear. yes very true i feel the rear tire tends to slide out after a few turns. and front i got washed out twice at the 2nd bend out of pit. heng is nv buang manage to control it. tires were still the ones given by mah bt090 150 rear bt039 110 front, when i got my bike last yr. what tyre size are u on larry ?

I knew you would come up with one!! Nice matey. :thumb:

Nope. No one else I can drag along. I think a group of 4-5 is just perfect. Three wouldn't be so bad as well - more person(ified)al training time for me then!

Lawrence mentioned he was going to bring his air pump along. I will prob buy a pressure gauge this weekend. Besides Mustafas, anywhere you recommend?

My checklist for the trackday:

1. Suit + back protector

2. Helmet w tinted visor

3. Gloves

4. Boots + socks

5. Ignition key (apparently ppl forget this if they tow up)

6. Zipties & duct tape

7. Spare spark plug

8. Small towel + deodorant

9. Msia ringgits

Anything else? Food and drinks I believe we can get from the cafe there, right?

the big bikes are like 160kg..we are 120kg...because of weight n power, their tyres heat up faster... outta pit 2nd bend? tyres tooooo soft n they were cold thats y lor...and they on Michelins..u on OEM dude..ditch it...wud u believe if i tell u the aftermarket 090 feels better then the OEM 090?the 1st thing i did on my bike was ditch the OEM Pirellis, shod on Power 1s n took her to the track..

im on 150s rear for practise n trackdays... on race days its 140s,i buy 140s whenever i hear they are in town cause normally its a stopover here before shipping out to our neighbours to shod on to the Ninjas 250R for races...with the 140s,u utilised the whole tyres right to the edge and into the sidewalls..they are lighter n lesser rolling resistance to give u the edge in higher cornering speed... pricewise almost same or slightly more as they are hard to come by ... i still hunting for a 130 rear, their sidewalls are still able to flex enough to get the grip needed for higher rolling speed...but thats really like living on the edge..

u forgot Go-Pro Cams.... :p:P

n y do u need a deodorant for?

RM $ needed ..like RM $200 sud be sufficient... its RM$35 per hour so normally its 1st hour, rest an hour and do the next hour..thats RM$70,gas probably like RM$50 plus food & drinks RM$15...

food n drinks, theres a macs there next to the petronas station...we normally have bit of food n top up our gas before heading to track...

just spoke to Lawrence before he headed off to gay pareeee....

your gears will be left @ sporting motors on monday, tuesday morn u guys ride up to redhill,(sms u the location soon)..load bikes on truck n i be there too.get on my car and we go together to PG... after track session (boooo!) u guys can follow the truck back to yer place together with yer bike...

i will be taking it easy though... cant afford another siezure,my suit's bottom is not mended yet and my ass skin is just protected by my undersuit..*ouch*

ok i'll post it here so i dont have to talk so much on tuesday..hahaha

can show u the lines (track lines) ..the gearings ( i will stomp on the gears so u have a clear view on how many im downshifting),the shutting of throttle (indicated by me lifting my right hand off the gas,i hate this part actually cause i gotta react quickly to steer her thru the bend), braking (easy cause i putting on my brake lamps)..the only part that a little hard to show is the opening of the throttle...normally once committed into the corner, we start to gas (2 strokes only please, dont do that with a superbike or u be saying Hi to the marshall at the hut)...or u can start gassing once u past the apex and roll it open to allow yer bike to drift, many closed once they feel their bike drifting,n straighten n lean over again and open throttle, after committing into a lean, do not open/shut/open throttle...this is one sure way for inviting a highside...remember on the track, the most important tool is yer right hand n they serve only 2 purposes...either u on the gas or u on the brakes... DO NOT Coast as u have ZERO traction..

my way of riding might not be agreeable to another rider but then again like i mention before..its a mix n match..u need to find 1 that fits u ..1 of them is using of the rear brakes... i dont use them at all,u can tie my right feet to the pegs,im fine with it..im comfortable with doing a 100% hard braking with the rear squirmming behind me...some of them dab the rear to settle the bike before squeezing the front hard..notice i use the word squeeze n squeeze in progression, dont snatch or u probably do an endo (if that happens, use yr knee to squeeze the tank, straighten yer arms n release front brake) or worse lose the front end...damn! i can go on n on..:p:P

on tuesday i be in front for like 5 laps then i signal u n u get to the front for couple laps and then we discuss in the pits..

im no Keith Code but i do have their Videos... hahahaha

the body positioning ,i'll leave it to u to decide who u imagining u want to be...i bet its Lorenzo.. hahaha

so u be in the 5th Generation group .. :D

about the Go Pro..get a loop around the cams and tie it to the bike n duct tape it...i bet we are wanna have our cams for more track days

Hello fellow Aprilians,

Every single time I want to start my bike in the morning, the e-start totally refused to cooperate (even with the choke on and the fuel meter turned correctly) and I had to push start for a few seconds, let the second gear die down by itself, turn neutral and start the engine the usual way (e-start).

I went to a nearby workshop and the mech says it's my battery low and he recharged it for me. However after a few hours i reach home and try to start the engine, I would need to repeat the tedious push start process all over again.

I've tried searching this thread for hours but there are too many conclusions to this problem.

Hope I gave a detailed view of my problem.

Thanks guys.

Mind telling us whether yr bike first or second hand? And how long have you gotten it? Which year make was it? Although i do suspect yr battery is weakening as it cant seems to hold its charge for long.

Aprilia RS 125 2005 edition. 2nd hand.

I just can't seem to get it started with the e-start alone (for cold start) without push starting.

I recently went to a coffeeshop, chilled with my friend for 30 minutes, went back to start and i still need to do the tedious push starting process...

Was there any cranking noise when you press the start button? Do your meter lights flicker? What's your voltage before starting? Does it increase while you're riding above 4000RPM?

Could be a number of issues. Battery, Starter motor, or even recitifier. :)

ANY FOOL CAN HOLD A TIGER BY THE BALLS, BUT IT TAKES A HERO TO KEEP ON SQUEEZING. And I am that f*cking hero...

Yes there's a crank, is it when the bike sounds like a horse wheezing? Meter lights don't flicker. My voltage is around 10.8-11.8 before starting. Yes the voltage increases if i rev.

The only problem is with every single cold start i have to do the push start process. If i stall my engine after kick starting successfully, I can easily use the e-start alone to start it up again and dont need to push start.

Do you guys effortlessly start the engine via the choke and e-start for a cold start? No need to push start at all?

P.S I got this bike today and I am thoroughly disappointed that I could not bring it to school:(

It just won't start the engine when i on the ignition. I have no idea what's the main cause of the problem right now. :(

anyway, when my engine is cold at around 37degrees and below, i will have to use the choke to start. Perhaps u are using the choke the wrong way?
