Anyone here using voltage optimizer on the battery? I just fix it onto my bike but have yet to try it yet. (pic below)

Any feedback?

It's said to make the bike feel lighter but no diff leh.

Installed the new battery today, went home for awhile to let the new battery settle down, tried starting the bike and to my dismay it showed me a weak 10V on the meter which obviously meant that I can't start my bike.

What seems to be the problem now.... :\

Which workshop did you go to? Tomorrow is Saturday, 37 Motoring is open, I suggest you go there and get this sorted out.

Bro, how much you paid for this? Is this supposed to be fixed to the battery or CDI?

This looks like the old model, I have one attached to my battery, called G force. It works for me. Smoother riding, brighter lights, sligjtly lesser engine braking. I felt a distinct difference overall. Still testing it though. :)

Fixed it more than 6 months ago, still TESTING. next is track TEST. :)

I went to the workshop to just get the battery. The mech put in the distilled water, passed it to me and asked me to wait for it to cool down before putting it in the bike. Should I have charged it first before putting it in?

This is the problem. Everyones says that a lean seizure will happen. But no one can say why. All arguments i have come across so far are from experience of friends of friends or grandfather or a simple explanation like "oh the excess fuel cools the engine". Gasoline has a latent heat of vaporisation of approx 298J/g. The combustion of 1g of gasoline at stoich produces 47KJ/g of heat energy. So the logic that excess fuel "absorbs" the energy is flawed as only a small amount of energy will be "absorbed" by the excess fuel. What happens to the rest of the energy? It gets transferred to the cylinder.

Im nt saying i am correct or anything. i just wana know why because none of the layman logical explanation of things actually explains why a lean seizure happens.

Law of Conservation of Energy:

Energy cannot be created or destroy, its only converted from 1 form to another..

Cute thinking... where does the excess energy goes to?? to drive the crank :p

The heat values you have quoted are for normal atmospheric combustion conditions

Normal atmospheric combustion doesnt occur inside the engine cylinder..

There is actually very little heat produced in terms of percentage of total chemical energy initially present..

nope u do not have to. its something like plug and play. i'm heading down to 37motoring tomorrow after work to do my carb setting. will be there ard 530, u may wanna head down as well :)

I bought it from the fella selling it on garage sale. $60. Oh yes i felt the lesser engine break as well. Lights not too sure as i'm using white light. Smoother ride not so as I just change to a 34mm carb w 155 main jet and the rpm get stuck at 5-6rpm. Like how it use to get stuck on my 28mm. Heading down to ah seng to do some setting.

Anyway did u receive Tim's order payment?

How do you guys read temperature on the new model with just bars? I read that 3 bars are ideal for running, but what temp is 4 bar equivalent to?

4 bars only happens to me when i'm riding in a jam. quite common. i've nv go more then 4 bar before :)

Same, or sometimes I'm riding at 3-bar, then come to parking slot, neutral and it jumps to 4-bar ... but never above 3-bar while riding. I'm just wondering what temp it might mean :)

I've read that 5 bar must go to see doctor ...

I dont think at any point of any of my posts have i said that energy somehow magically disappear of anyth like that. Im well aware of the laws of conservation of energy.

Did u know that in the most efficient of todays internal combustion engines, approx only 20% of the potential energy in the gasoline ends up bringing ur vehicle from point A to point B? The remainder 80% of energy is "lost" to things like friction, sound and heat. So to say that very little heat is produced in the combustion is, as u say, rather cute. Temperatures in internal combustion engines are known to exceed 1000 degrees celcius.

U see the heat values i quoted is not only for atmospheric pressure. You might have a wrong perception and of what these heat values mean. In thermodynamic terms, heat is the amount of energy transferred from one body to another. The heat value is an indicator of how much energy is released during combustion, thats why its measured in Joules, not Degrees Celcius or Kelvin, and thats why at different temperatures of pressures, it will not change because as you have duly pointed out, energy cannot be created or destroyed. The movement of the crank is determined by how much of this energy is actually transferred to the crank. And like i said before only approx 20% of this energy does that. What happens to the rest of this energy? Its lost as sound, heat(layman terms), friction etc. So you see to say that very little heat is produced is incorrect, to say the least.

Anyway, the issue in question is how a lean mixture can cause engine seizure. And to date, i have not gotten a definitive answer to this qn. Maybe the only way to find out is for me to actually run a bike with extremely lean mixtures and find out for myself. But im hoping i wont have to come to that and that someone can explain this to me. Maybe i should use my seized cylinder to test this out. Anyone wana donate a piston? hahaha.

ohh seems like its time to change to michellin power 1 before going to track nx time round. i did not know there are diffence in the ones given by mah n those aftermarket ones. i always tot they are the same. haha i prefer big n wide tyres i feel more safe with it... haha

Power 1 awesome BUT it frickking shreds rapidly in PG... n it cost like what? almost close to the superbikes tyre pricing..oh and another thing about Power 1s ,when it goes,it goes bike n rider together goes..no hints of minor side stepping slides...for now the alphas 12s,003 even yr 090 is good enuff unless u have loads of doshs ..n normally after 6 heat cycles,i will change tyres cause changing tyres is far cheaper then crashing...

but it be good if u try power 1 at least once, the difference is vast... get the V profile front... hope u dont get a rude shock the 1st time u bank the bike into a corner :p:P

tyres not given by Mah dude...its given by factory... bigger n wider tyres visually looks assuring but it doesnt mean you can lean in more bro...

cheers

$200 for the Ohlins and throw in the footrest free.. Can scrap it, and use to fab other parts. :)

Draka might be interested in the Arrow. Why dont you list the parts you have so people know you dumbo. Think everyone knows your bike is it??

Ashraff, just to clarify, is it accepted that lean mixtures CAN cause engine seizure, and your question here is HOW? :)

Running your bike lean and seizing is not going to explain anything but just prove the theory right. It seems to me that you're curious about the theory.

And I think we need someone well versed in Physics to explain it. :) xxes123 majored in engineering, but I think his patience doesnt extend to us. So either we go find us a Physics professor, or we just accept this as one of life's mysteries.

I can understand your need to comprehend why and how etc, but sometimes, these things are beyond us. :) Have faith my boy.

Few years ago, some bikeshops said Ohlins didnt make a specific shock for the RS125. I proved them wrong. Some say, Sharkskinz doesnt make race fairings for the RS125, i ordered a set 2 years ago. Ignorance might be bliss at times. and a pain in others. You've done so much homework, unlike others here.

Let's just move on. Hehe. All this reading is giving me a headache. :)

Btw, got tim's payment, and used it for personal expenses at RWS. Too late to add in for order. :)

Bro, the last time you put 34mm carb, then you take out is it? Or was it another person?

Don't listen to the BOSS. The reading is great and I wish I could join in since page 948 but I'm surfing on my phone & it takes me forever to type. I used to debate with this other Aprilia rider all the time about technical theories like this. Sadly he is no longer riding.

I can explain seizure to u but that'll have to wait till I'm back on Mon.

Believe nothing you hear; and only half of what you see.

Do or do not; there is no 'try'.
