i belief it still can be detected when go pass the ERP but i'm not sure about those carpark like Wilson parking. 1 thing is dat most of the time when i insert the cashcard, i always 4get to take it out... so its more secure to lock it in the left side. and 1 more thing is i seldom use IU de, so it looks nicer to hide it inside. :angel:

congrats on ur collection of ur SW, yeah got 1 more same same de le...:) wats ur plate no.? got 2 digits or wat nice nice no.? i hide my IU in my right compartment.. enter carpark can be detected when is hiding inside with cover closed no problem, but ERP gantry i scare scare everytime will open cover n will pull out the IU out a little, passed le then push back n close it.. hehehee...

those bros i know having the IU locked inside left glove compartment usually ride closer to the right side of the gantry... can see the block looking sensor right? just align your IU in front of the sensor will be ok liow.

shouldn't need to pull up, normal will do cos that few 1~2cm difference and a thin plastic cover won't make much difference

actually i'm not so worry abt the scanning part. i juz scared like last time wif my spark, the car behind came up too close to me, in the end the scanner scanned his car instead of mine...

DAY 10: Phi Phi Island Snorkeling

Full day snorkeling at 1100thb (speed boat). Very nice clear water and many many fishes swimming near by. Should try this when in Krabi.

Also bought my fisherman pants for next year's Samui trip (2 for 450thb).

Day 11: Krabi to Hatyai

On way back to Hatyai, detoured to the Tiger Cave where fusionjaz cleared the 1237 steps to the mountain top in record 55mins (up and down).

Also made a stop at the hotspring. We were the 1st to arrive and had the pools to ourselves. Left when more tourists came.

Hatyai... the usual makan, artistic dvd shopping and lucky us, bought a laser pen at 500thb each. Very powerful. Will bring on Thursday.

Day 12: Hatyai to Genting

Left early and made stops at Semanggol R&R (195km) and Ulu Bernam R&R (200km).

Did the carble car loop, shot some arrows and will be watching Hairy Potter at 10pm.

Hi Scooby,my bike also like that.I think the front is too light and fork too soft.when i reach 80km/h,i can hear noise at the front.

"like that" means? vibration?

i'm not too sure if we can accurately segregate the various sounds we hear at 80km/h unless they are very distinct and sufficiently loud to stand out. noise coming from the bike will usually be contaminated by wind noise (and other traffic noise as well) at that kind of speed plus we can't possibly lean forward to check it out without risking safety... such stunt is strongly not advisable :p

vibrations at the front on the move (especially when at bends) could be due to:

* soft fork spring (handling issue)

* wheel/tyre not balanced

* tyre unevenly worn out

* tyre not properly fitted or fitting has ran

* steering cone worn

* bearings worn (more likely to cause noise)

* something/somewhere is loose inside the head cowl (e.g. fairing or fittings)

* etc etc.

i recently spent about 5 hours taking the head cowl apart and putting things back 1 piece at a time after taping/insulating the "vibratable" areas. a lot of work... but happy with the result :thumb:

the SW is indeed head/top light and backside/bottom heavy. head zone comprise of mainly lightweight stuffs like dashboard, meters, windshield, headlights, handlebar, etc. all of which are mostly plastics/tupperware. the rear zone comprise of mainly heavyweight stuffs like transmission assemblies, gears, exhaust, storage (underseat compartment + topbox) plus barang barang, etc. even the rear wheel/tire weighs a lot more than the front. good thing the engine is located below the rider somewhere at the center.

for now, i feel dat my front is kinda "loose" instead of the vibrating feeling. cant explain yet. maybe its juz the "normal" way it shud be. :angel:

discounting the possibility that the steering cone is worn out or not properly fitted, a scooter's handlebar usually feels loose (easier to turn) compared to other bikes. this is mainly due to smaller tyres and geometry differences. in layman terms:

* the smaller the tyre, the easier to turn the handlebar.

* the more upright the fork is with the horizontal (larger head angle), the easier to turn the handlebar.

a good example could be a vespa old-school scooter (fork is near vertical) vs. a cruiser whose long fork extends forward. it is easier to turn a scooter's handlebar as it has lower kock Koch index.

The Koch index is the ratio between peak steering torque and the product of peak lean rate and forward speed. Large, touring motorcycles tend to have a high Koch index, sport motorcycles tend to have a medium Koch index, and scooters tend to have a low Koch index.

@Elton: true la... but for my brake light, i dun have time to go bck asp during the weekdays... juz wondering if i shud let ah choong do the checking instead... will call asp tml to find out wif the prob 1st.

@scoobydoo: after some recalling, the "loose" feeling is mostly at turns & bends, especially those bends exiting or entering the highway.

sounds very much like due to soft fork springs
