Since your bike is still under warranty and the taxi driver is going to pay for it, strongly suggest that you have it repaired fully by Boon Siew... ask them to work out a FULL restoration price and tell them to factor in necessary buffer, just in case. Also, ask them for a temporary replacement bike if your bike needs to be checked in.

Lastly, remember to get the "agreement" letter done.

stock came with bridgestone?

since your tyres are used for only few days, why not post in garage and see if anyone interested to buy? there may be pp who dun mind the stock tyres, at a good price of course. if want, better sell when they're still new.

even if sell cheap, at least can help defray the cost of changing the tyres :p

too late to ask but did u get his name, IC no & taxi plate number? oso better to take some photos on the spot to hold some proof in hand.

if he dun want or cant afford to pay, u need to claim his insurance. from my past exp, if u r not injured, dun bother to make police report as they will not handle it...

OMG!!! the shop drilled holes on your new bike just to save on the bracket? :slapforehead:

in fact, just a piece of metal plate (attach to botton of IU), a used roller (or spacer) and a long screw will do. i hope the mechanics got your permission before doing it.

mechs cannot sooka sooka drill holes on customers bike without permission from owner, even if its new purchase. if its me, i will go to shop boss and KPKB, then ask them to change the centre piece (costs >$60 if we buy ourselves) back to normal.

updating all kakis on behalf of SW9000... he's busy at BS settling the repairs on his bike around now.

a taxi swirl into his lane from behind and hit the left rear section of his bike. luckily, impact was not very high and bike did not fall. other than the damage to the bike (from our conversation last night, seems like only the tupperware is damaged), SW9000 did not sustain any injury (according to him).

arhhh... probably got go 拜拜 during the trip :)

lets hear the story from SW9000 first hand this thursday 02/11/2010 02/12/2010, 7.30pm at Rail Mall TCB Clubhouse.

Thank goodness SW9000 is ok!!!

As for SW9000's case, it is better to still fill up the accident form, signed by both parties on the spot. In case the very next day, the fella changes his stance, you still got the report to claim against him. Othherwise it is his words against yours and it will be the happiest case for insuranc company-both gets premium loading and lose NCD next year!

$190? we usually change around $170+, include front wheel balancing and installation.

check with ah choong about the switching, $60 is too much even though it takes some work.

a picture speaks a thousand words... http://smileys.on-my-web.com/repository/TV_and_Movies/vendredi-13.gif

how much to ask for the BS? actually depends how much u willing to "write off".

for me, i'ld probably look at around ½ of outside price, buyer take-n-go (i.e. installation not included). friendship price is another story. too ex, no one buys; too cheap, sim tia. suggest you call bike shops to find out pricing first.

hanor hanor... luckily his legs are long and strong enough to hold the bike upright. if its me, bike sure off balance and skid/drop.

he forgot to do the "agreement note" on-scene. already advised him to get taxi driver to sign on black-n-white (admitting liability for accident and damages) when they meet this morning, and before the repair estimate is out in case driver change his mind after hearing the quote.

if not wrong, ah choong also get diablo tyres from motoworld as they are the local distributor. unless if motoworld keeps some for themselves, should also be stock out.

arrange with buyer to collect your BS tyres from motoworld then go ah choong there for fitting to save $$. alternatively, you can consider putting the tyres with ah choong and ask buyer to go straight at his own time. he pays for the tyres and workmanship then you collect the $$ from ah choong, or leave the $ with ah choong as credits for future works :p

on 2nd thought, selling to close friend may not be good idea. cos really paisey if he skids on the BS tyres, worst still he blame you for selling him "tyres you already know will skid" :faint:

Yup. He went with me to Boon Siew this morning and signed the private settlement letter, agreeing his fault and pay for repairs.

However, parts must be ordered... should take 2 months. Grr...

The left side cover (top and bottom) must be replaced. The problem is 1 plastic L-shape connector (the bottom panel need to screw to this) that is broken is part of the signal/tail light unit and cost $260!

I was actually thinking wanted to save some of his money by DIY repairs the connector (ultra super 2-compound gluey) without replacing the whole unit cos the lights not damaged. But hor... if next time want sell bike then how to explain huh?

Now waiting for Boon Siew to call and tell me actual price of all the replacement parts.

Expecting around $600 bah (including labour?).

if 2 months, you're lucky liow... my estimate is 3 months or more cos i heard they only place orders few times in a year. meanwhile, ask Boon Siew to fabricate something or use cable ties to hold them together.

btw, CCK area seems to have quite a few blackish SWT... whahahaha  100% kidding

we all know you're a nice guy, but saving $ for him by DIYing will be like foolishly nice liow. best you can help is to ask for discounts on parts cos there's a scheme for Boon Siew bike onwers to enjoy discounts on parts purchase. imagine if its you who hit his taxi, he'll definitely squeeze you dry dry machiam kum jia.

$600? i think it'll cost more
