yea yea. better listen to david kor kor de advise.

oso, i've explained last nite but i may not be very clear.

if u r using it mostly in sg, adopt wat sw9000 is doing. juz get the raincoat around 2 size up. easy for u to find cos u so miao tiao.

i myself oso plan to get another mesh jacket juz for sg usage, like wat gmax is doing now.

if u r using for travelling to msia purpose, u can get the drymaster like mine. there are a few zips for the purpose of air venting.

http://www.motoworld.com.sg/detail.php?pid=28

for bufget wise, i got the knee-guard instead of the riding pants. its more economical & easier to wear it & take off. i bought dis:

http://www.motoworld.com.sg/detail.php?pid=614

if u can afford to buy 1, it cost less than $200, by all means. its still better then knee-guard IMO.

http://www.motoworld.com.sg/thumbnail.php?act_id=1&cat_id=7

its best u can go to a few shops to try them out and see which 1 suites u more.

in addition, i'm wearing ankle covered industrial safety boots & "fancy" industrial glove. its much cheaper than riding boots & glove.

above is my personal preference, due to budget constraint. upz for safety concious :thumb:

Thanks for advice... will check it out....

Can someone do me a favour?

The next time you open up the belt compartment, rev the throttle and observe the belt movement at the variator.

I'm suspecting that the variator start to push against the belt at 3.5-4k rpm.

Just need a few ppl to confirm this.

Bell usually have sound when the clutch goes bonkers.

That happens thru wear and tear.

New bike normally don't have such problem.

If you bought 2nd hand, should have got everything checked/serviced again regardless what the previous owner or bike shop said about maintenance done recently.

Yo, Guys.

Many potholes spotted on the expressways.

Some very big and deep.

Possibly due to the constant rain that made the road condition worst.

Please ride with care especially in the rain.

firstly... warm welcome to SW community... its cold and wet out there but its warm in here, and hot for those who's hearts are already riding to ko samui and betong

when something moves, there will be sound, especially when so many things moving inside the cover. variator with rollers spinning, belt rubbing against plates, belt cutting through air, clutch assembly spinning inside the "crampy" bell... some whispering some talking. a scooter's transmission system is different from those of normal bikes (neutral gear) when at idling.

is sound normal? depends on what sound you referring to :p

like SW9000 suggests, better to do a full post-purchase servicing if your's is 2nd hand; see post #72 bought an used (aka 2nd hand) silver wing?

also suggest you spare some time to read the Silverwing 400cc / 600cc Tech Corner; info there could tell you the common issues SWingers have encountered, from commonly patronised workshops, to stuffs like final drive oil, to common ad-ons to the SW
