btw scooby how abt my the brake switch? is it easy to access and diy? as currently when i use the front brake my rear brake light didnt light up.

u mean rear brake lights working when using the left brake level?

then maybe it could be the sensor switch defective, but sometimes some servicing/cleaning could do the trick.

better to get the mech to check/replace rather than DIY

Rode my lady out this morning to work, the characteristic is little different or can say the same from scooter. From stop to moving off at traffic light, gear changed is very fast. You are at gear 6 when reach 50km and it kept going up (hold throttle, she maintain 3k~3.5k rpm) can't feel the gear changed or should I say change in engine sound. Bad point, travel 20km or below (throttle open & close) this lady don't like it. She will complain, you can feel the bike hunting for gear (up down up down) but once you open throttle she fly. Can't feel the engine brake when slowing down, she keep shifting down gear to maintain constant rpm ready to engage high gear if you throttle up.

 

3.5k rpm at 100 km or may be more as I run out of road (car infront) . Peak torque is at 4k~4.5k rpm. Only play with D mode, haven't try out S mode.

Need help... anyone know where i can get the headlight bulb for either HIR or Osram night breaker? My SW headlight bulb spoil liao, need to change brighter one... Currently temp used back the white bulb but does not serve well, most of the time car cant even noticed u White bulb cannot serve as good as HID lor..

HIR, PM limbat from SBF. His workshop/office is in Changi I think. For Osram, I've seen it in autobacs, their prices are crazily high. Better to order online.

 

I've used night breaker before, it really cover a good wide distance. Scooby used the limbat HIR before, very glaring, even at day. So, if you want the car to see you, get the HIR. Just make sure don't use white bulbs. No matter what brand, definitely will lose out to white for visibility.

Ah choong might have but check with his cos always no stock. I am using HIR now, very much brighter than my sucky stock bulbs. Used to use night breaker on my car, not too bad as well. But i prefer HIR as its the next brightess next to HID which is illegal if its not factory fitted.

HID... personally, i wouldn't recommend HID cos they are not LTA nor inspection friendly.

 

Osram NB... bright and good throw but has relatively poor life. i've used 2 bulbs and both lasted only about 6-8 months. heard the NB+ is an improved version that has improved durability (didn't try yet).

 

HIR... yes, these are very bright and visible even in the day but costs about $35 per bulb. i don't regret paying the premium cos i'm still using the same one that's fitted since 2010. guess what? i passed 2 inspections with it so its proven LTA/inspection friendly

 

an alternative is to get the Phillips diamond or extreme series bulbs. they're also very bright and durable but costs about $60-65 a pair (sold in boxes of 2) at mx tradings. my car is currently using Xtreme vision and its good.

Thanks for info guys... I think i might get a HIR for low bean n normal bulb for high beam? hmm..... Need to go inspection nxt mth, if HIR can pass inspection then i will go ahead for this liao

 

I do used ONB for S4 before, can last quite long till my bike sold, same as whyzee as well Yes, i hear tat is available for ONB+, cost $50 per pair but din try yet was tinking HIR... since is good will try smtg different.

btw, i bought the HIR in pairs from Limbat. better call/check with Richard (63381138) if he wants to sell single piece before going down. either fit HIR on both high/low or find another biker to share
