I still stick to Liqui Moly Racing 4T Bike Additive bought from Equipment Extreme. $12 per bottle and use it like every 6 months. Pour into full tank.

http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/showthread.php/176699-LIQUI-MOLY-Available-Now!!?

It helped me once and I trusted it till now.

the main chassis of FJS/JDM SW remained almost unchanged since its launch in 2001, so should fit.

in fact, that pair of hagon shocks can also fit SWT :)

btw, the same hagon shocks are used for both 400cc & 600cc

Hi Scooby, you mentioned earlier that the same Hagon shocks can be used for both 400cc & 600cc models, and also that the main chassis of SW remained unchanged since its 2001 launch. So if I buy the Hagon shocks for 2001 FJS 600 as the link below, it should fit my 2001 JDM SW as well right? Or is it better if I just get the shocks for the 2006-2008 FJS400 model as you advised?

Sorry for so many questions! Still a little bit confused... And also don't want to buy the wrong shocks.

Thanks a lot for your help :)

bro, u ask like that i guess only hagon can answer you le :p

as far as we know, the chassis of the 400cc and 600cc model, 2001 & 2006 production are similar. thus the hagon shocks should fit. i'm not hagon staff so can't assure you that it will fit.

according to the email replies from hagon and its HK distributor, there's only 1 standard spec of hagon shocks for SW 400cc/600cc, no mention of year of manufacture though.

so my guess is, ordering via the various links at wemoto probably gets you the same thing :pity:

according to hagon USA's webby, the scooter twin shocks (application type M) are for SW (code 42501) from 2001 to 2010, see this page.

http://www.hagonshocksusa.com/HagApps4.htm

this is a reply from HK distributor...

We have the scooter shock in stock: #34501 for YAMAHA YP 250 (HK$1,300.00), #41501 for YP 400 (HK$1,700.00) and #42501 for HONDA.

SILVERWING 400/600 (HK$1,700.00).

There is no delivery charge within Hong Kong area, we can send the Hagon shocks to Singapore and Malaysia via post office.

The postage is HK$300 for each pair.

Of course you can visit our shop to get anything you want.

Thanks in advance with best regrds,

What is FP60?

FP 60 is a fuel additive that according to its distributor (Lube Control Distribution Inc.), increases combustion efficiency, lubricates fuel pumps and injectors, cleans the fuel system, and potentially increases mileage.

Hmm..o_O. I am looking for smtg or whether there is any liquid can clean the petrol tank which can be more fuel efficiency and smooth for running? Is this FP60 can?

If you have the tools, it's easy and fast. If only gravity, takes longer and more steps. Else, pay shop to do as don't change brake fluid so fast. Not more than $20 include fluid.

Using EBC for coming to 2 years and 17kkm.

some of the SWingers also tried goldfren, braking, etc. other than sticking to the stock ones which are rather pricey :p

there were some posts in the past on brake pads, i'll collate and put up on tech corner for easy reference.

some riders choose to use HH at front & organic at rear, that's still ok but NEVER the other way round; using organic at front & HH for rear increases the bike's skating "capabilities" :faint:

me too... got my EBC HH on both front (FA261HH) n rear (FA196HH) from Unique Motorsports, cost $65 for each pair including labor. suggest you call Alec to confirm price before going down.

there's a MO going on for EBC pads.

M.O for EBC brake pads

but i remember the savings are not much and after paying for labor... sama sama le

unfortunately, don't think so.

i'm also wondering how much dirt has accumulated inside my SW's petrol tank after all these years.

best way to clean the tank is to probably to empty, remove, rinse with chemical, dry and then put back. think ah choong can do for us ba :p

Just bleeded my brake using Carlube DOT 4 brake oil. Realized there are 2 bleeding nipples at the front caliper...Now I understand how the CBS worked. It uses 2 chambers front brake caliper, 1 chamber for front master cylinder which actuate 2 pistons and 1 chamber for the rear Master cylinder for the actuation of the 1 piston in the front caliper. The rear master cylinder linked the front and rear calipers but provide a slightly weaker braking in front as it uses only 1 piston fro braking...Simple but effective idea...

Now brake feels much better and tighter..Next week is for brake pads change...Anyone DIYed the brake pads??Izzit very hard????Thks

IMO when I got TMAX I changed Vesrah semi metallic brake pads which I uses for years almost a decade which provides a very good initial bite and they are very cheap. I uses it for my previous F4i, super 4 and etc... I used EBC HH for my R6 good for stoppies...

I found that TMAX front would simply lock the wheels if I depress hard enough...Just using semi metallic... I ponder for a long time...I realize scooter just dont load the front tire hard enough and stop enough...If you ask me a HH pads would be a waste....Why? It cant fully optimized the HH pads and it eat rotors....HH is higher fiction rating..Too much it will locked the wheel....

I usually DIY my brakes...Changing pads, bleeding, changing master cylinder and brake lines...I done it all...Why cos in my younger days, a mech screw up nearly cost my life.....It is not hard just need the tools....After DIY I will ride around the car park and check everything is ok....

I recently DIY change brake pads. Using Vesrah. I loosened the brake pads pin and then removed the caliper mount bolts. The pads will come off once the brake pads pin is removed.

Actually my first time doing. The masters are SW9000 and scoobydoo. My objectives are to balance the throttle bodies and get the air-fuel mixture correct. Not sure if that equates to more fuel efficient. I think better let me sort out the adjustments first.

Hi guys, I am contemplating switching to the SW 400 from my Spec 2. Am checking out the prices for a new bike. May I know what are the differences in getting the bike from boon siew to bike shops? I am not really keen on the helmets & rain coat that the shops throw in, but will like to have a box, which BS doesn't give free. Where do you guys get ur bike from?
