It should be ok. Cos now Kymco had already improved I should not see any problem for the next 3 years.

 

Yea....hopefully I'll be a xciting 400 rider soon .....

we will be having our 3rd local meet up next Friday, 28th June 2013.

 

Location : East Coast Park Carl's Junior

The purpose of this meet up is to bring all riders together to share and learn more about riding and motorcycles and also to have a great night out with friends of Motor Sport after a week's of hard work.

Hi, I'd like to get some feedbacks from you guys...

 

Just got my 2b recently. Getting a bike for commuting purposes, and also to pillion my wife.. So ultimately, I want to go for a scooter.. Twist and go, and comfy stable ride with big storage..

 

I was eyeing the downtown 200i... Then i thought should i just get a cheap manual bike to last me to class 2A? and save up so i can go for either DT300 or xciting 400.. Anyway more options when its class 2A.. (silverwing etc).

 

Is the performance between 200i and 300i or xciting 400 a big difference? Cos i understand that if i commit a new bike now, if i want to sell it to upgrade later 1 or 2 years down the road, It may not be worth it.. And I checked around like dont think afew shops will accept kymco as trade in. :( But i really like the bike though.

 

Oh yes, is DT a bike that is FC friendly?

 

What do you guys think? Thanks..

Ask yourself will you upgrading in the near future? If you are then look for a used scooter for commuting. I'm sure our handsome Bike Yong can guide you . Personally I have 2 rides a scooter Xciting 400i and another class 2 bike for touring. I would say the scooter cannot make it, but to me end of the day I still want the joy of manually changing gears when riding.

 

If you buy new be prepared to loose big time if you decide to change within the next 3 year. You can loose up to 80% of the value. Are you prepared to loose that much?

Between 200 and 300, get the 200. DT200 i heard can hit 140km/h. My DT300 also can hit only 140km/h. I heard from another DT owner can only hit 120km/h. The China Lady 200 is the later batch 200 and the 120km/h is the earlier batch. Then again it has everything to do with run-in. I guess the lady don't know about run-in and she already went thailand with it. The other 120km/h guy, he did the standard do not exceed certain speed run-in.

 

Scooter can tour. Ask the Kymco scooterist most have gone thailand. If you tour with big bike of course can't make it. If you tour with same type sure can make it. If you tour alone, anywhere also can make it.

 

Buy 2nd hand, if not DT200 can keep as spare scoot if buy 1st hand. Your pillion may love the rear seat.

Try for fit first before you decide. Pillion foot rest not the most ergonomic.

 

DT300 my fuel use to be 25km/L, now 27km/L-29km/L.

DT200 I don't know.

Between DT3 and X4, I'll get the X4.
