Well, DT125i machine price is $6,600 I think. Haha

huh? wtf? i tot its 2b bike... woa sian man... tt bikei think noone will buy coz got 300 and soon 400 also... anyways... how many active ppl in this thread? u guys meetup often ?

btw anyone using any alarms for their bikes?

Posted (edited)

Nah. I don't use alarm. Haha.

DT125i enough for Singapore roads. But I'm already counting down the 10 months left to enrol for Class 2A!!

Before I got the DT, I was planning to get the Suzuki GSR 400 for my 2A getaround, but based on used prices [2 yrs old going for $12-$14k], 3yrs old going for $10k, etc],

It makes my choice of getting the Xciting 400i a much more convincing and easier choice! HAHAHAH!

There are quite a number of DT300 riders on the road, but most of them are not in the forum.

No I am just thinking about what u said then use a bigger bike as an example to analyze and Qsn it... Hmmm... When u say myroad has enough power for touring u r talking about comfortable speed or comfortable pickup? I sure like the storage the bike offers man!

To me, i dont need pickup for touring. I need capability to tour at comfortable speed. I have gone past thew riding age where you toured at min 180kph and above. Now old, gutless n balless, dont wish to put myself in that situation ever. I havent tested Myroad topspeed in malaysia yet. Being 700cc, with fairing, windshield n heavy weight. I am pretty sure it can cruise at least 140kph. Thats good enough for me already. Couple with storage place, i am aspired to complete my next riding goal. Golden triangle n mae hon son!

DownTown has a more upright seating position, whereas, for the Xciting you'll gotta bend your back a little. And DownTown underseat storage can store 2 helmets, whereas for Xciting, you can only store 1 helmet.

Xciting 400i will only come in 3rd Quarter of 2012. Haha. Hopefully, showroom units will arrive by Apr-June.

Hi, how do you know it will come by 3rd Quarter 2012? I email motor sports and they reply that they are unsure when is the arrival date in Singapore. I am keen to wait for the xciting 400i. But not sure what is the specifications of that bike.

Full tank consumption can travel how much? Can't find all these information online yet. Think the bike is too new.

topgearalwaysrock: You planning to buy? Not sure if we buy together will it be cheaper? haha.. sick and tired of a bike that cannot put anything.. scooter will be a better choice for me. I will wait until it comes out next year.

I guess fuel consumption will probably be between 23km-25km/l. Unless they use a different engine.

Well, it's a new engine by Kymco, since they don't have 400cc for their scooters. It's co-developed with BMW, like the DT125i and DT300i.

And yes, I do intend to trade up when the scooter arrives next year, just in time for my Class 2A license.

What bike are you riding now? No top box for storage?

Kymco claimed the Xciting is using a cooling system that boost horse power hence the engine model carries the G5SC. SC stands for super charge. It do not have a super charger mind you. I just read over the internet.

Cooling? I think is the coolant or oil cooling or air cooling. How to boost power by cooling?

Don't tell me it's like SYM tumbling valve where the air swirl differently into the combustion chamber at different rpm improving power and fuel economy.

I am riding Yamaha YZFR15. I did not put a box because of looks issues. My friend told me I shouldn't bought a sports bike in the first place. So now, want to buy a scooter. Have been looking for the past 2 months. Thought of buying Honda Silver Wing T400 until I saw Kymco downtown 300i. Then heard that Xciting 400i is coming out, might as well wait for that. Just afraid that there will be issues with the bike engine and fuel pump problem. Yamaha TMAX is well known for fuel pump issue. Read from the forum. Sad case for such an expensive bike.

Kymco is priced more cheaper than Honda and Yamaha. Hopefully Kymco will be live to up to the standard.

Lol. Ok. Well, if you can wait, of course getting the Xciting 400i will be a good deal.

But if you can't, then get the Xciting 300i lorh, or better still, get a used one first.

Not sure what Technology they are using. But Honda also coming out a new Model named Honda Integra for next year. think is 700CC but the fuel economy is around 30km/l for a 700CC. That is incredible but the looks of the bike is very uncle.. Plus the bike must be at least 24k region I believe. ..

Yes the 400.

Downtown 300 using G5 engine

Xciting 400 using G5SC engine SC=Super Charge but no Super Charger leh ha ha

I am guessing the fuel consumption will be in the 25km/l to 28km/l range.

Yeah. That one to rival BMW C650GT.

Looks are based from the VFR1200..... Okay lah, where have uncle looks? Just that it's gonna be quite bulky I think. Haha. And underseat storage thanks to the sporty looks won't be as good I think.

$24k OTR? I doubt so, more like $27k OTR.... Now Japanese Yen so high, and their production costs is high too.

Look at the DN-01, it's a monumental failure in sales. Haha. Sell so ex [above $30k], who wants to buy??

Lol. Maybe SC stands for Sports Compression?? Super Charge don't have an effect on engine capacity what.

from 270cc bumped up to 399cc, that's a lot of difference! The engine is also co-developed with BMW isn't it? The Xciting 300Ri is co-developed with Honda??

Fuel consumption for YZFR15 is very good. at least 42km/l. Whole tank definitely can go up to 500km. 12 litres for whole tank. Ok good, when you going to take your Class 2A? haha.. I plan to take Class 2 though I am not getting a class 2bike.

$27k I will rather go buy a second hand car already. The DN-01 looks cool but with a heavy price tag. Think only foreigners will buy that. But most of them will buy Harley.

@Doremi: Today I went to sit on the Kawasaki Concours again- Seat is still tall for me, hard to get on and off compared to scooter, sporty riding position [gotta bend my back].

The MyRoad 700i is a luxury limo compared to the Concours man! haha.
