hi all,

I was trying to look up info on motor (bike) insurance, and was wondering if any of you could shed light on the following questions:

1. is it true that putting someone older as the "main rider" (like my dad) and myself as the sub-rider (i'm age 24) will decrease the insurance premium?

2. is there a HUGE difference between insurance premiums for someone who is 24, and someone who is 25? I turn 25 in less than a month, and if it's worth waiting till then to get a bike, i might just hold for the time being.

the current quote i have from NTUC is $1061 for TPFT and $623 for 3rd party.

cheers,

Kenny

i dunno..

i m 27yrs old this yr..

i own a sp...

my ntuc insurance is 285 ( 2nd party)

my sub rider who is going to take over..

he's 20 yrs old.. no p plate..

he juz top up 50 bucks for 8 mths of insurance since jan - end of aug..

i dunno if a 20 yrs old ( without p plate) rider their 2nd hand insurance might costs...

500+/ 600+?

btw.. my insurance was since last aug..

Suck it n ride!

It's worth waiting after you step up to a new age before you sign up. Even if 24 to 25 doesn't decrease the rating factor for the premium, 25 to 26 or somewhere down the line will (when you renew the policy next time).

He who hesitates is lost!

that's certainly good advice - i hadnt though about it, that i'd prob be paying some tens of dollars extra each time i renew my insurance in the future! :thumb:
