also, is the radiator fan supposed to spin up when revved on neutral? cos mine doesnt spin when i rev it on neutral and im wondering whether this is normal.. thanks

I don't have a Daelim Roadwin, so I'm going to give a generic answer. Hope you don't mind.

On most bikes, the cooling fan is activated by a thermometer or a heat sensor when it senses the coolant water going past a (hot) temperature level.

Apart from revving a bike that is already in a 5 minute long traffic jam, I don't see how the cooling fan should turn on just by revving one's bike.

effect of H1N1 ? I'm sure you meant thermostat

The fan will kick in once the water temperature reaches a certain point regardless if the bike is moving or stationary.

If your bike has a temp gauge, you should know roughly when the fan will kick in. If your fan doesn't kick in at all, then it is either or both your fan or your thermostat is/are defective.

hm, i think my fan is working fine then. wondering what is causing the rattling sound tho. super irritating!

- Ensure there is nothing in the way of the fan blades, like wires

- Ensure the fan is tightly secured to the radiator.

- check the condition of the blades. If one is chipped, it will upset the balance, and cause the vibration.

- check the condition of the motor brush, if it is worn out, the free play will also cause vibration.

If it is none of the above, the source of vibration could be from somewhere else

Same problem. I adjusted my radiator grilles thinking it was the cause. Found out it's my exhaust slip-on not tightened properly. You might wanna check all the bolts for your exhaust, make sure its tight.
