hey friends

recently(perhaps it was happening the whole time?) i realised that my SP lights and tail lamp goes pretty dim when i dun rev, feels almost like a old-world vespa.

i asked my garage and i get a buncha jargon.

Something about a charger and battery and rectifyer.

and he said i cant do jack about it.

is my battery dicked?

is there a way to keep the current flow constant?

another thing i'd like to know is the difference between the terms "full service", "top overhual" and "overhual"?

alot to ask, but i need guidence

thanks friends

(FYI, my 2T problem from pervious thread is still going on)

small bike is normal, when u rev then the batt charge simultaneously makin ur lights brighter. u would like to check the voltage of ur batt when rev and stationary. start off with, new batts, then rectifier lastly ur magneto coil. this 3 crucial parts is for ur bike charging system.

i ride an sp too! i guess, just ask ur mech to set ur idling rev to abit higher. i understand most of 2B bikes is like dat when idling. I think it's just the setting.

I believe full service is like changing engine oil, brakes, check carb, etc?

top overhaul & complete overhaul is about the engine. difference is, top overhaul they just take out the top cover of the engine check watever parts that can be seen when they remove the engine's top cover.

complete overhaul is like ripping off the engine, changing of pistons and block, etc.

this is what i studied in automotive last time. correct me if i'm wrong. (:

Your electrical lines could be experiencing high resistances. One of the common causes is due to old electrical connectors that could have melted or are rusty. A simple thing you could do DIY is to apply dielectric grease into all the connectors. This creates a path of less resistance and also provides a moisture barrier.

Worked wonders for my R1 and my friend's KTM200. Better sparking and brighter lights. I'm in the process of offering the service of greasing up all the connectors in old bikes for a fee. Still discussing it with the moderator on the viability. FYI, a small tube of the dielectric grease costs up to $20 and is heavily used in the marine industries.
