I saw one gl1800 at a shop. But the guy told me that its a consignment bike hence for the low milleage..20kplus. Its registered 2010 but a 2006 model and it has the onboard mapping. Any drawbacks with consignment bike?

I think you can safely buy goldwing as engine is quite reliable. However this model does not have the CB button

Singapore Goldwing Owners Group is now in facebook http://www.facebook.com/GoldwingSG

Now own only BMW K1600GT and Ex rider of Honda GL1800, Yam GTS1000, Yam Fazer 1000, Kawa GPZ400 , DukeSS400,Kawa ZXR400....and more to come

GW 1800 in Singapore from late 05 to 08 were Euro spec with Euro harness which does not come with CB radio provision and non plug & play for accessories, therefore, this batch of GW was not popular and it explains why some manufacturing date is much more earlier then register date..

09 and above, all come with Euro spec but with more popular US harness which is "plug & play" and with CB radio connection provision.

No money. :(

sure u have, but supposed goldwing is a "toy", less priority.

anyway, suspect when new goldwing is available in ?2015/2016, then a few will start selling the 2012 model,

more choices for those looking for used goldwing.

Currently, there are 2 units 2012 model looking for new owner.

I heard Honda will come out a new goldwing GL1800 next year but only face lift, not entire new model, that means it still using the same chassis and engine. :(

Looks like still have to wait for longtime for the complete new model.

Woah!!! 2 units of such a new (2012) model looking for new owners?

2-year old GW1800, guess the price will be around $35,000 or more?

Life is short, had always dream of owning and riding one GW one day, but the price sort of put me (an average Singaporean) off. hahahaha...

You're being humble seahmh, quickly fulfill your dream and get a GW, you sure won't regrets. :cheeky:

Seeing how my mum is down and "tortured" by the current on-going chemotherapy for Stage 4 Lung Cancer, I find life so fragile and short.

Really feel like simply trading in my '06 FZ6N for a GW. Must at least ride it before I "hand in" my IC.

Else when I report to my "maker", He ask me what bikes I have tried riding and GW is not in my list, I will live to regret it. hahahahahahaha...

But any reason why the current owners are giving up such a new (2012) GW? The riding is not "shiok" or 2012 GW problems many many?? lolz. :cheeky:

They are just enthusiast, just want to own the latest/most equipped goldwing.

Some of them cant get enought of goldwing, keep on changing every 2-3 yrs, owning all the versions.

2014 model similar, just colour change and (engine colour combination) and ?new compass/updated GPS (Andre pls correct if I am wrong)

2012 model no issues - except for some bikes that the cruise control jerk (accelerate for a while) on activation (mine resolved with Boon Siew - factory setting).

2015 - hopefully a totally new goldwing, instead of just the anniversary badge with minor cosmetic enhancement.

If totally new model, more worthwhile letting go of 2012 in my opinion.

Since I know I cannot afford such a new (2012) GW, perhaps I can consider about an older version of the GW, one that is before 2010 or so. hahaha...

Seahmh, sorry to learn about your ordeal, I went through the same experience 4 years ago.

My sentiment of riding the GW is the same, in another few more years. I might be too old to ride a GW, therefore, it is now or never. :cheeky:

Regarding the 2 owners who wants to give up their 2012 model;

One is die hard GW rider, he had rode 5-6 GW since '90 but age is catching up and couldn't go for touring anymore.

The other is due to work commitment and couldn't go for any touring for next 3 years, therefore, he would like to let go first and get another one 3 years later.

Both machines are in prefer condition.

I heard 2015 model will be only another face lift model, some changes in the boxes only, not a total brand new model.

Hi, Andre,

Yah, I am facing quite a dilemma here too. If wait till too old, then might be too old to ride a GW.

But then, due to my family and work commitment, I don't think I can go touring any time now. My 2nd daughter is just 2 months old and plus, my mum's condition now.... *Sighz*

So if I will to plunge in to upgrade to a GW now (esp such a new one of 2012), then I will be riding such a big ride in and around Singapore. People will "laugh" at me for being a poser. hahahaha...

I ever rode a FJR1300 before and could not go touring as much as some of my Hayabusa friends. So I wil being "laughed at" for being a poser for riding such a big bike in Singapore. hahahahaha...

Wah, the two owners are really die-hard GW fans.

2015 model will be only another face lift model? As in they will only "put some foundation powder" on the "face" of GW and re-launch it as a "new" 2015 model? lolz... :cheeky:

I ever thought of since I cannot afford a > $30K or >$40K "newer" GW, maybe I can also consider about starting with a re-newed COE GW1600 and not a GW1800. hahahahaha...

Any advice from you lao-jiao GW riders? :)
