actually, that is what the manual says. about 20km on reserve.

never tried how far it will go on reserve. dont want to end up pushing the bike to a petrol station. :cheeky:

K7 GSX-R1000 Technical Info

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is a repost of SPOOLN GSXR from sportbikes.net, but seeing how it has some good information that I keep referring back to, I thought I would bring it here for everyone's reference as well. SPOOLN indicates he received the information from a reputable tuner.

Engine Output:

'06 = 178PS @ 11,000rpm & 12 Kg-m @ 9,000rpm.

'07 = 185PS @ 12,000rpm & 11.9 Kg-m @ 10,000 rpm.

Trans / Final Drive:

'06 Final drive 17/42 @ 110 links

'07 Final drive 17/43 @ 112 links

Electrical:

Ignition Timing

'06 = 10 deg. BTDC @ 1,150rpm

'07 = 4 deg. BTDC @ 1,150rpm

'07 Spark plug is now NGKCR9EIA-9 (irridium)

Capacities:

Fuel Tank

'06 = 17.5L

'07 = 16.5L *(for an E-33 California version, 17.5 for any other version per the service manual -sqchram)

Cylinder Head:

'07 Intake port shape changed

'07 Exhaust port shape & dimensions changed

Valvetrain:

Shot peening to top of Intake valve stem

IN & EX tappets now same diameter

30mm intake & 24mm Exhaust

Camshafts:

'06 = IN Open 42 BTDC, IN Close 73 ABDC

'06 = EX Open 57 BBDC. EX close 38 ATDC

'06 = IN Lift 9.6mm , EX lift 8.3mm

'06 = Overlap 80 degrees

'07 = IN Open 40 BTDC, In Close 70 ABDC

'07 = EX Open 61 BBDC, EX Close 61 ATDC

'07 = IN Lift 9.6mm , EX lift 8.9mm

'07 = Overlap 79 degrees

Piston:

Similar to '06 but slightly modified for better combustion effiency & stiffness.

Piston Cooling Jet:

Length & diameter increased

Crankcase Vent Holes:

Increased by 9mm

Spark plug:

Now irridium

Cam Chain:

New chain, all plastic chain guide.

Oil Pan:

Changes shap for the 4-1-2 exhaust layout, capacity remains unchanged.

PAIR:

Larger diameter air passages

Clutch:

Hydrolic

Revised slipper design with 4 springs vs. previous 3.

Inner hub received 1mm larger oiling holes(fr. 2mm - 3mm), and the 18 holes are now re-positioned.

Oil Pump:

New design, not just a gear! Oil pump discharge is now 33.2 litres/minute vs. '06 version @ 30 Litres/minute.

Cooling system:

Cooling fan revised, 11% increase in airflow.

Revised trapezoid radiator shape increases cooling efficiency.

TB's:

Multi-hole injectors that are more compact.

Primary injector angle changed to 60 degrees vs. the '06 @ 30 degrees. Way straighter shot at the valve!

Exhaust:

Sucks ass as we all know, and adds 6kg's to the bike.

FI Mode Switch:

Mode A = Full power, full throttle response.

Mode B = Full power, milder throttle response

Mode C = Restricts power through entire RPM range, and provides "GSX-R600 type performance". Yes that's what it says.

Fuel Pump:

Discharge rate increased by 30%

Other stuff:

Electronic controlled steering dampner, 3 way adjustable rearsets, revised front brake discs, rear suspension is totally changed, and looks like the top brace on the arm will hit the shock if lowered more than 2-2.5 inches? Bike weighs 6KG more.

Edit: - I have also noted that the E-33 version (California) weighs 381lbs dry vs 379lbs for the others. - Sorry CA riders, 2lbs of junk in the gas tank diminishing fuel capacity. Anyone know how to identify a CA vs 49state bike?

E-02 U.K., E-19 E.U. and E-24 Australia versions have an immobiliser light.

i bet so too. Highway riding will give better mileage cos of less throttle closing and opening. I think city riding is the worst cos of lots stop-go.

Plus with the R1 or any litre bike, you'd wan to launch off quickly every time out of the traffic lights..:cheeky:

i believe the changing of gear at lower rpm is more significant.

i find cruising at above 100 at gear 6 with no dragging at lower gears has better mileage compared to dragging at lower gear but cruising at 95

Every damper will need a bracket. Bracket is used to connect the damper to bike. Even when you put the damper to the stock position, the small looking bracket clamping onto the damper is also the bracket. That bracket alone can cost $100+ easily up to those top mount bracket which might easily cost $200 and above. For sprint, I'm told that our model can only put top mount due to the rod will hit our air duct when the steering is steered to either side. You can try asking Bikelab. They are the one selling Sprint. I find sprint is quite value for money. So far from what I know, only Ohlins, Bitubo and maybe Hyperpro can fit onto the stock position. For Ohlins, get it from Ebay or you can PM R46 for better pricing. For bitubo, get from Mezzo and Hyperpro from motoworld. As for the pricing, contact indivual shop from pricing.

thanks a million! so it tre recommend to put? if put power abuser,still not to install grounding cable?:cheeky:

think for your family when u speed....
