  • 2 weeks later...

as noted by spy in the runner thread, these are the things to look out for wen u lookin at a 2nd hand runner:

1.engine bushing (shaft and bushing)

* see if the whole assy moves easily ,if so needs replacement

2.steering cone bearing (bottom and top race/bearings)

* the handling of the bike fr its handlebar is crucial, shld be able to swing freely.

3.wheel bearing

4.auto choke

5.coolent and water pump

6.brake pump, brake line, brake pads and brake disc(essential as it is the thing dat stops ur bike)check for wear, tear or any abnormalites in this items.

7.hoses ,fuel lines

check for hardened, cracked, worn surfaces along the hoses, should be changed immediately....

do add in more jus in case i miss out anything

lemme try to help u a little...

1. Pros and Cons (good to ride? noisy? lack of power?)

of course good to ride. easy to handle. noise wise its pretty noisy. definately no lack of power. stock alone is quite powerful for a scooter.

2. Special thing abt this bike to take note (e.g belt driven? withh belt break?)

belt is quite lasting (ard 10000km - 14000km) got a belt called malossi kevlar belt. better and stronger more lasting.

3. Maintenance cost every month

not too much of a maintenance actually. belts and rollers to be changed once a every 10000km? ard there... and it will cost quite abit if u're into modding... other than that, only need to spend some money on washing of carb and all..

4. What to maintain every month (change oil, change belt, etc?)

if runners were to change belt every month then most of us will be broke. hahaa... engine oil is the only thing i guess? but no need to change so often maybe once in a few months.

5. How much to fix a box (that is able to put 1 full face helmet)?

depends on wat kind of box u looking for (big ones/ small ones). some shops they throw in free GIVI box which shud be able to fit full face helmet. box ard $100-$200. it depends.

6. Price for OTR (w/o box)

eh... not too sure abt the market rate for vxr now.. hope others can help.

hope this helps. hope u get ur runner soon and join us! trust me.. its fun to own this italian stallion...

thanks in advance ya

FXR180 uses DRUM brake for the rear, SP180 uses DISC brake fer the rear.

FXR usually is FQ & early FR plate..

erm sorry, how much roughly is it when u purchase it?

They quoted me 7k OTR. However if the roadshow price is cheaper, they will match it. Plus they will give me the same goodies during the roadshow promotion.
