Guys, need some Varadero advice here. I was going for the Tourance as suggested here but realised that there is no size for my front -only the back can be fitted. Tourance front is 19 inch rim size. Sian. The standard tyre fitment on my Vara (125) is stated as:-

Front: 110/90-18 56

Rear: 130/80-17 65

Where the tyre expert? Can help babybike?

Me know nuts about tyres. :sorry:

VVVV - if what Shah from Biketech says is true, it would be a real hassle. (the welding, riveting etc.)

I have sent an email to LTA regarding this from VVVV's report fr Shah:

(3) System must be sold & installed by Singapore register importer that imports this item.

Kekeke.... I wonder whats their reply o_O

. Must keep us informed :thumb:

VVVV>> I don't know if the canister is welded or not, but for sure its riveted .. according to the technical drawings.

How about Arrows?? its welded too? All I know silencer is riveted to the can.

elws>> the price I think would be the same as AT , V125. But I will comfirm it again with you.

Afrika twin>> thats my intention. I want to get all paper work ready and send to LTA to check. If ok then go ahead with orders. Not ok aka cannot pass, then I will ask again , who is hardcore enough to go on with the orders

Hello Jason

In principle the "Homologation certificate" is the only thing anyone needs. And this is what i will get first.

Of course i will try to get the 2 other certificates for the XLV 125 and for the GS1100 and i am shure i will get them

I will try to get every paper, that is possible to get ,from LeoVince

This is not an easy job for me because here in Germany no one needs to have any paper when the E-Number (homologation number) is printed on the exhaust system. Our police has a database where every system and every exhaust-system is listed that fits together.I am very astonished hearing that you have such problems in Singapur....but we will work together,so that you will have no probs.

Best regardElke

conclusion : Singapore a laughing stock for all others for being EXTRA! Like in the army , same same , extra... :sian:

Varas >>

There's another problem I realise only last night when I visited biketech.

SHAH told me...

Inspection at Vicom:

Street Legal pipe in order to pass LTA approval MUST:

(1) Removable silencer insert to be welded to the main cannister.

(2) Must also have additional rivet to secure that db killer

(3) System must be sold & installed by Singapore register importer that imports this item.

For item 1 & 2 no problem. Manufactural in Italy don't do it. It's done locally in Singapore. Small problem for LeoVince. But item number 3 is important, I don't know if they close 1 eye regards to these..... If they enforce item 3, bad news for online self-import buyers...

Anyone know more about this pls post?

Smicerboy >>

You the only one with certified papers for exhaust... Can you acknowledge that you have seen the certification before? ITEM a) and b) tat were posted by varas earlier?

i do have the Homologation Certificate for Arrow....think tis is wat Varas said abt the lab test cert.. i think shah got it all approved frm LTA b4 we collect the cans frm him....only have the photocopied copy of the cert..... I guess u shld hav it oso...

hmm....now i do feel a bit scared that "uncle" will get to noe my illegal mod to my approved cans once he didnt see any silencer around...

:giddy:

hope i dont need to donate any singapore traffic police charity fund...:sian:

Dear all, my contacts from germany had replied.

The homologation certificate he sent me is exactly the same that comes with the system packaging. And its the 1 that Elws got rejected based upon.

Problem is , LTA want to be extra , yet never list out what they want clearly.

The certificate is clearly what they wanted if u read LTA rules. But on what basis they reject Elws? Damn...

Elws>> please list out clearly what LTA really wants. So I could let german side know clearly what really LTA wants. Is it verbally they told you the reasons of rejection?

Btw its comfirm same price as AT system

Smicerboy>> could you show me whats listed in ur cert?

Fooz>> its abt 15kgs per system , they would be charging 120 euros for 4 systems

Varas> Bro how many time u want me to repeat. Very Sian liao leh.

1. Homologation certificate. It only show that the particular exhaust is tested at the particular centre with a serial no printed on the exhaust.

2. Test result which shows the bike make n model, the DB @ the particular RPM when it was tested. Singapore dun know the standard for this test centre. If the DB does not complies to LTA even though it is approve for EU. It will not be approve. Singapore have no support from other country or nobody want to support Singapore. Singapore DB level for bike is 105db but other country may have other standard.

LTA claim that as Singapore is not a Vehicle Manufacturing country so they are unable to verify whether it is correct or not thus doubting the EU standards which I think is very stupid. LTA have stated clearly that they want the test report from the exhaust manfacturer at their website.

I went down to try my luck cos I know wat they want. :cheeky:

Posted

elws>> bro i want to be sure sure very sure lah , u know me lah... i don't want to waste time of the seller.

So any paper or cert showing the sound produced under 105dB when the system is installed , will get the pipes approved right

item 1 is given and can be downloaded from their website, its also what the seller gave me when i ask for homologation cert... :sian:

Hi VARAS and vara riders,

I'm interested in joining you guys on the SBK order. But I like to clarify some stuff 1st before I say yes. Also the approval by LTA issue.

Is the price same for my TDM900 (2 pipes, Type:5PS Standard-mount oval E-approved Evolution II slip-on )?

Is the S$830 (shipping inclusive right?) quoted in the earlier post for ALU cans?

How much is it for Ti?

Is it possible to get it without the tags (ie clean metal look)?

Hope I am not giving you too much trouble

Hi Varas,

Thanks for checking. I've been also checking on other pipe manufacturers and came across this http://www.wings.si/ I've got in touch with the manufacturers in Slovenia and they could get a Ti set for me incld shipping for less than 1k SGD. They also can do it w/o the tags. i prefer the clean pipe look w/o the tags. So I think leovince can do it too. This wings is supposedly on par with akras. Many oseas bikers are using them over the akras due to the much lower price compared with akras but with the same quality as akras.

elws & Bochap >>

You must forgive me. I was trying to fix up the ARROW to go for inspection before 5pm saturday. Tot I could finish earlier but .....

Millions of apologies.

I owe you and Bochap 1 KATONG LAKSA each.....kekeke....

Smicerboy >>

I'm ready to roar bro. All done up.

In the process of changing the pipes myself, I found :

- Nuts are super tight lah..especially the number 14 mm ones  used plenty many WD40...and arm power...

- problamatic hook for seat release lock attach to rear plastic....alamak..:giddy:

- 2 broken 12mm spanner & 1 bleeding left hand...

- 6 hours of my week-end time

(Period quoted includes yelling out in pain when spanner gave way and driving around to look for new spanners to replace broken ones....)

Maybe I should have paid mechanics $30 .. Kekeke.... Too many things to remove in order to change pipes lah... On the other hand, advantage is such that quite sure it cannot be stolen....not unless the whole bike gone...

Varas >>

You are in e OVERDRIVE mode I can see.... :thumb: good work lah bro.

The second generation proto-type crowl will be ready coming saturday. You have electrical drill at home? Your only job to fixing the crowl is visual alignment and drill 2 holes. Tats all.....

Varas>> I doubt they are as they are quite a new company. I believe in future, they would be doing so. Anyway my point is to request for tagless pipes from the manufacturer. Which technically should not be an issue unless they are picky abt branding. The wings is just for info for everyone. Hope to hear more good news from you.
