I need to redefine all the fields in my car classified ads to make it easier for people to find what they want.

It would help a lot to know what people who use classified ads look for.

For example I would assume make and model first but what is next?

Description

Condition

Contact details

Color

Engine size

Number of owners

Registration expiry

Number of seats

manual/auto

Number of doors

Accessories/extras

I would really appeciate any feedback on which of these fields you think are important or if you can suggest better ones.

Thanks

Actually it doesnt matter so much as long as all the crucial details are there and I see you have them all.

most importantly , price is missing

As a buyer, once i've zoomed down to the make and model I want then price is what I would want to know. After that I want to know what color and what accessories.

Serious car buyers will already zoom into what they want.

They will know the make and the model that they want.

They will look for a particular color to suit their style

Someone who doesnt know yet is usually at the very early stage of the "buying" process. You will be wasting time catering your ad to them.

Good luck hope you are able to sell your car at a fair price

Thanks for the feedback.

Yes I missed out the price which of course is essential.

The reason I am asking is because I am setting up new fields for advertisers to fill in when they advertise in the free classifieds section of my web site. I want to encourage them to enter as much info as possible but I don't want to have so many fields that they get put off.

It also relates to how easy it will be to search the ads for things a buyer may be looking for.

It a compromise between too much and too litte which is why I am looking for feedback on what potential buyers would want to see and what sellers are willing to spend time entering.

I think you've got it basically all covered.

I would like to know more such as :

Mileage - An indication to the conditons of the moving parts.

OMV & COE - that translate to the scrape value of the car, and selling price is essentially a mark-up of that sum.

Yes the essentials OMV etc etc etc , as demon mentioned.

Just look at SGcarmart, and you will know.

Mileage makes sense. I should have put that on the original list.

I am not familiar with OMV & COE. Can you tell me what they mean?
