i do that oso~ especially while approaching an amber light about to turn red... coz had the unfortunate incident of getting knocked over by another bike trying to beat the red lights when i stopped nicely in the middle of the lane before, so now i usually siam one side first~~~

but usually cars coming in to share lane with me at red lights approach slowly and gives me ample room too~ not zoom in like u said.... ur cab is really fierce~ mebbe in a real hurry...

ttz y now i dunno whether i shd position in middle or off middle or extreme sides ... scary man...:cheeky:

Always check your mirrors when you are about to stop. Good habit to cultivate.

i have no problems with bikes over-taking me on the same lane~ usually will move closer to the line on the left to let them pass (esp when there's heavy traffic in the next lane or when having to squeeze) once i notice them, other small bikeys have extended the same courtesy to me before too. by right we dun have to but we do that~

but there are bikers who expect me to machiam like know they're coming from far away at high speed and move first so that i dun disrupt them, tail gating and reving and high-beaming~ then when pass me liao purposely treat me smell smoke... :giddy:

some small bikes ride close to the line most of the time to allow faster vehicles over-take them but it's not safe~ what if kena swept to the roadside.... have u seen the lallang plants flourishing at the ECP lately~ they have sharp razor leaves leh.... not to mention the metal railing, etc etc... :help:

aiyah~ that's what most of us wanted mah... getting to our destination safe~

Riding on the line is certainly very unsafe. Read from a bike mag that a good place to be is position behind either the right or left tail light of the car in front (if not overtaking). Being on the line invites cars on either side to squeeze past u (close).

Anyway, I don't chiong and hassle slower bikes la... I just wait patiently behind them... and wonder why they just can't move slightly to let faster riders through. I am not that fast anyway, and always let others through, and always wave to those who do the courteous thing... including cars.

Sometimes (always in the day only) I turn on my high beam when splitting lanes. In the day, it is not glaring. It helps me stay visible.

unfortunately, the cars like to squeeze if we do not keep to the middle... to them, anywhere to the side is license to squeeze pass us (esp for tiny bikes) i've had experience of riding in the middle and being forced to the side juz coz a car from another lane wanted to get in front of me, and i'm keeping normal safety distance~

sometimes is subjective lor, some juz dowan to move... those with pillons especially~ or mebbe they didn't spot u behind them... but like i said, by right dun have to move~ or like what a fwen said "not happy then lane change lor"

but most of us do, no big deal mah, some wave (mebbe to indicate thanks or excuse me) or not ~ people in a hurry let them go first... juz dun do the sudden dash past while we're already moving and scare the sh|t outta us lah, we oso wanna live while giving way de leh~

and i'm riding a very small bike with experience of having 2 cubs goin pass me on the same lane while they're side by side of each other... plenty of space for everyone, and they did slow down while passing to ensure stability~ that's fine.

I'm down today around 4 hrs back at Jurong Town Hall Road.

Wanted to avoid an MPV driven by a bast4rd ang moh muthafucha and crash into a car.

Smashed his whole rear windscreen.

Surprisingly, my DRZ only had his handguards out of place, mirrors bend outwards and my right shroud bend beyond rework. Radiator OK! HAHA!

That goes to show scramblers are really ROBUST!

Oh.. but I'm down...

Oh no..

My jaw is damaged, my both knees too.. and my old injury is back..

But I am still amazed at my boy!! He's ok!! *excited*

Ok ok.. back to problem.. I think my next year premium is gonna be sky high.. (but my DRZ is ok!!).. and thank God the driver was calm.. (but my DRZ is ok!!)

Prolly becos I just told him what he need to do.. (cos my DRZ is ok!!)

In an emergency, please do not lose your head.. please maintain your calmness..

Just remember, CLAIM INSURANCE then claim lor.. what can u do? Thing over already. No point getting angry and cry here cry there..I am at fault too for failing to look out and do a stoppie, then wheelie front wheel over can and ride off (wah seh!!)

I admit, I am partially to blame but also, Robert Plant is also at fault cos he was blaring his Rock N Roll over my mp3.. *smirks*

It's been a long time since I rock and rolled,

It's been a long time since I did the Stroll.

Ooh, let me get back, let me get back,

Let me get back, baby, where I come from.

It's been a long time, been a long time,

Been a long lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely time.

Yes it has.

You guys gotta listen to this man!!! IT IS THE ESSENCE ROCK!!!!

Just give your (sorry I forgot, my DRZ is OK!!) insurance, IC, driving license and exchange..

And move on your way..

Remember. It has already happened.

My DRZ is ok. And I am proud of his built.

Ok, got time now to post. Saw 2 accidents on the way to work.

Accident 1

Car crash into tree at Grange Road towards Patterson Road.

Accident 2

At Havelock Road at the junction before the ERP gantry, 2 Caucasian guys were trying to settle the accident.

I still don't get it, especially for Accident 2. Everyone still wants to slow down and see. From the beginning of the jam, might as well shutdown my engine and

saw 3 police car on e way to work and another 2 on e way bk from work yesterday

traffic's really getting mad. i really wonder if e govt will do anything at all to elevate e jam. built more roads more gantries? but tat doesn't solve e problem it e 4 wheelers population is not controlled...u build more roads & u put more cars so wat's e diff?? am grumbling again and it's precisely tat it's something beyond my control tat i can only result in grumbling and living w it...haiz

This morning while riding to sch, I saw a dead body lying face-down on the road. Apparently, the victim was knocked down by a car while trying to get across (along the busy 4-lane road after Bukit timah Fire station in the direction of clementi). I believe the victim was a maid, judging by the clothes worn.

On my way back from sch, the jam was gone, body removed. Once again, individuals were dashing across eight lanes to get from one side to the other (I might have done the same too).

Nonetheless, the morning incident really woke me up to the dangers posed by roads. So, do remind your loved ones to excercise caution as a road user, be they drivers, riders or pedestrians.

I hope that I never have to come across such an event again.

haha true, i went twice already this mornz! FYI

_____

this mornz traffic was considered breezy compared to past few days but still i see ppl doing stupid things. witnessed a malaysian kupz overtaking a phantom v close and obviously he was kinda pissed w e inconsiderate action and shook his head.

reaching office, saw a taxi cutting a mercz v dangerously at high speed and e mercz horned loudly at e cab.

i dun understand why even for such road conditions ppl still hv to do things like tat, it's no wonder accidents happen regardless of traffic condition.

these few days oso quite a few police cars on e rd, be on e look out ppl, dun speed and ride safe.

arrgh shucks shd hv made some efforts to take my tricycle to work.

Which means I have to be on the alert for the next 8 hours. I'll be home packing and then I'll get a ride to the airport....

but alas...

Brisbane, where I'm going, is about the same. TP hiding behind shrubs and lamp posts :slapforehead:

Thank you Lass. I'll be careful driving over there too.

I get to see the car I used to drive. I hope my gf's brother won't be using it too much. If not, I'll see if I can borrow his Kawasaki GPZ 250. Still would be better to have transport around the place and don't have to look at the bus and train timetable again :sian:
