Since frenchbiker brought up this issue of thread deleted by the moderator. I think it's a good idea to merge the both threads the ZZR/ZX1400 and GTR1400 under 1 thread known as Kawasaki 1400. Especially so this is under tourer/sports touring thread.

What say you guys?

hmmm.....will it be messy later? since one group talk about zzr. the other talk about gtr. halfway through the conversation, you may get someone bumping in and disrupt the thread flow.

I believe both threads can be merged together with no problems, namely because our bikes are so similar (engine wise), yet so different (everything else), so a clear line can be drawn during discussion.

I've put all the technical issues for the ZZR1400 in the "Bikes Review" section to avoid messing up the ZZR1400 chat thread anyway.

By the way i have this item for sale. I bought it earlier for my GPS. But it was solved by a RAM mouth already.

http://projektd.com/product_info.php?cPath=27_39_46&products_id=89&osCsid=29bd298c64a76bb0dd8b2f82734db83d

Universal Mount for GPS and other compact devices for Kawasaki GTR1400 / Concours 14 made from Precision Laser Cut Stainless Steel.

Fits on 2007 to 2009 Model bikes.

Our Universal Device Mount can be used for different applications, ie. GPS, Radio's, Music players, ...

The pre-drilled holes allow many brackets available on the market to be directly and conveniently fitted.

It allows you to install the device central on the bike. At this location it provides good visability and easy operation combined with the best protection for both the rider and the device.

Additional feature - the angle of the mounting plate can be adjusted freely. Each device and application can be set to fit each rider and style.

Installation of the bracket is easy and fast, a typical installation will take about 15 minutes.

The Universal Mount comes with long bolts that will replace the shorter factory bolts of the handlebars.

As long as they ride Kawa GTR/ZZR/ZX ,then no problems bring them in, we are trying to organize an exclusive dinner ride for once, as it is so rare...

We have plenty of opportunity to organize another one with any bikes, but for this one let's stick to the original plan.

Thanks, Bro! Not easy to get the Kawa bikers together, let alone the GTR and ZZR, but if you have a ZX Kawa ( at least 1000 cc) then feel free to tag along...

Hi all. Sorry to ask for help in the first post itself. I have a 2007 ZZR1400. I've recent done the following to it: -

Flies still in

Tsukigi Cannon GP Exhaust Full System

BMC Filter

GPR V4 Damper

PC3 USB

Speedo Healer - De-restricted

rest all on looks.

Now the biggest issue that I'm facing is mapping for my Tsukigi Cannons. My bike is from Singapore (Mitsubushi ECU), hence none of the USA maps are working properly on my bike. Sadly there's no dyno in my country yet, otherwise I wont have had to break my head like this. After many tries from my friend in USA for mapping, nothing was working out. So I simply put on the flies out, normal tsukigi full system map from UK dynojet site. Now that map was for a normal full exhaust system, not Cannon GP. Needed to ask if there's anyone who's installed this exhaust & if there's any way for me to get the maps for it. Now that I'm in the right place for my 14R. I'll check out what else I can buy to enhance my beast.

Please do help out guys. Cheers

Hi there.

Firstly, I don't see why none of the USA maps will not work on your bike. How is not working well? Is the bike running too lean, or backfiring all the time?

Do check the following;

1) Is the map close to your setup ie. BMC Filter, exhaust combo?

2) Have you blocked off the kleen air injectors? This cures alot of backfires (Stuff a marble up the tube)

I'd assume the maps were made with flies out too, cos thats usually the first thing any respectable rider will do to their 06/07 ZX14s.

On the other hand, you can go my route and get a Bazzaz ZFI AFR kit, create your own map.

Hey thanks buddy. The USA Spec 14R's have a different ECU. I gave my ECU (Mitsubushi), then I was told that the ECU's are different. The maps sent from Greg of zx14.net were killer, but the issue is that after installing, the bike started losing throttle response, started bogging out, once it refused to start even.

After installing the UK Tsukigi flies out full system map. The bike ran without any glitch. Only issue was that it hit a flat spot around 4 or 5k rpm, but then just took off. I think its running very rich as my FLIES are IN & the map is for FLIES OUT. However, that was for tsukigi full system where as I have the Tsukigi Cannon GP full system, so got alot of blue flames popping. How can I rectify this? Does anyone have this killer exhaust system on a singapore bike, thats the only way I suppose I can make it perfect.

I don't think theres a Tsukigi full system in town. To the best of my knowledge theres a Muzzy, Brocks and Arrow full system.

There shouldn't be much difference in maps for these exhausts unless you're going for the last hp. Try removing your flies AND blocking off the kleen air injectors first before going further, seems to me the UK Tsukigi map is working fine.

Oh yea, get a Japanese JIS screwdriver to avoid stripping the screws.

Dude in India I'm lucky enough to have got all this done to my bike. Unless I know exactly how to remove the flies, I wont want to touch it. If possible pls do let me know where can I find exact data to get this done. What are these injectors? I thought removing flies are the simplest & most effective mod that can be done to a 14R

Take out your right side fairings, then look under the airbox. There is a rubber hose connecting the airbox to a device just infront of the cam cover.

Pull the hose out, stuff a marble into it (make sure its a tight fit! ), then put the hose back. Should stop the backfiring.

As for the flies, you have to remove your fuel tank to access the airbox. Its pretty easy because everything has quick disconnects, including the fuel line. Try to do it with low fuel though, cos 22 litres full tank is not very easy to lift.

Thanks alot mate. Appreciate the help. Strange how come no one has the Tsukigi Cannons there. Its the best GP exhaust system as per my research. 13HP increase on dyno :)

Needed to ask one small thing. Does yellow/orange flames mean its running lean & blue means rich? So running rich is better?
