Yea, next weekend 1400 outing to Cameron Highlands! :D

But I got bad news, bike got bumped in the carpark, fell on its right side. Scratches on fairing, exhaust and mirror much worse than before, so probably need to respray and get new mirror.

But the fall also punctured a hole in one of the covers, so its leaking engine oil when running. Gotta get that replaced! Just my luck....

Any suggestions for color to respray?

I don't want to have anything to do with the dealer if possible. For now its just scratches, can be buffed out and putty filled, no problem.

If deep scratches and it really bothers you then putty and respray back to original colour. You bike mech should be able to advise you. If not then plain stickers will do the job. Main thing is to get those serious stuff replaced first.

Was at Sporting this morning and saw a set belonging to a GTR rider here. Wonders who's is this? Owner please own up...

Take out your right side fairings, then look under the airbox. There is a rubber hose connecting the airbox to a device just infront of the cam cover.

Pull the hose out, stuff a marble into it (make sure its a tight fit! ), then put the hose back. Should stop the backfiring.

As for the flies, you have to remove your fuel tank to access the airbox. Its pretty easy because everything has quick disconnects, including the fuel line. Try to do it with low fuel though, cos 22 litres full tank is not very easy to lift.

Man, that was the simplest & the most effective modification I've ever done. Thats neo. I can see now, why you were insisting to take the flies out. The flow of power, the smoothness, the throttle response have improved & like how. Thanks once again. Now the MONSTER is alive. So all together I've done the following to my beast: -

2007 ZZR1400 non ABS

New set of tyres,

New mirrors

Demon eyes - special edition orange halo

carbon fibre seat cowl

PC3 USB

Killer mapping from Dynojet UK

Secondary Butterflies OUT :thumb:

Speedo Healer

GPR V4 Steering Damper

Aftermarket Race Bearings

BMC Race Filter

Tsukigi Cannon GP Megaphone full exhaust system :thumb:

Muzzy fender eliminator

Hopefully I didnt miss out on anything

2009 VMAX, 2007 ZZR1400, 1984 Yam 350HT, 1984 Yam 350HT Modified, Suzuki Shogun 1998, 1942 Triumph 350

Right mirror, Right front signal light, brake lever, right balancer, all can be replaced with parts from eBay.

Right exhaust and lower fairing is abit more tricky. Also, the stock color Pearl Meteor gray - or Greenish gray, is quite a tricky color to match. So I guess I'll take this chance to freshen up my bike abit, get a new color on.

Hey guys,

There are a couple of threads organising trip to the upcoming Phuket Bike Week in April, any ZX-14 riders wanna go up with me?

:p

Hey xixy, I'm not really interested in Phuket Bike Week (more like Phuket Harley week). I'm planning to do North Thailand after Songkran week though.

Last time I enquired it was around $2600.

Could the owner of this shock also contact me? I wanna see if the original GTR shock can fit the ZX14~

Talk to Clifford he should be able to help you on the colour match. If worse to worse then go for your favorite colour.

Don't do Nortern Thailand during Songkran weather will be a killer. Furthermore accident rates during Songkran will be a all time high. Best time to hit it is from late Nov - early Feb where you'll enjoy the cool weather and it makes riding more pleasurable. I can help you on the routes and maybe some accomodations.

Oh dear, its alittle too late now, can't take two weeks leave at such short notice...

When you say killer weather, do you mean hot, or wet? Or both? :S

I'll be heading north after the songkran period. maybe end April.

It's going to be bloody hot. There were times where my therometer can registers up to 45 degrees.

Did you block off the kleen air injector? Wouldn't give you more horsepower but willl stop the backfiring.

And yes, removing the secondary butterflies is the cheapest and best mod available for the 2006/2007 ZX14. Be careful not to snap the throttle open too fast in 1st and 2nd, or you'll be looking at the sky REALLY quickly!

Hot is fine, wet is not.

No choice, I missed the cool season already, can't wait another year, I've waited 3 years!

Ok just take care when you ride and keep yourself hydrated. Just let me know if you need info. You need the Thailand map on the GPS just let me know will try to load it for you too.
