2. Hua Hin - Nakhon Ratchasima (474km)

3. Nakhon Ratchasima - Khon Kean (150km)

4. Khon Kean - Sukhothai (423km)

5. Sukhothai - Nan (249km)

6. Nan - Chiang Rai (250km)

7. Chiang Rai - Chiang Mai (242km)

8. Chiang Mai - Mae Hong Son (178km)

9. Mae Hong Son - Tak (374km)

10. Tak - Kanchanaburi (578km)

11. Kanchanaburi - Chumphon (606km)

12. Chumphon - Hat Yai (487km)

13. Hat Yai - Singapore (890km)

Total approximate distance - 5,538km

I haven't factored in on interesting spots between the planned stops. Do you think it's realistic?

Cheers mates..

13 solid days of riding. Will discuss more when we meet up.

Hey, I've been thinking of doing prettymuch the same, but may I ask why you choose to go East then West?

I was thinking of doing Chiangmai/MHS first, then Nakhon Ratchasima - Khon Kean.

I never really thought about the East/West part.. I guess I'll be spending an extra few days at Chiang Mai which is right in the middle of my road trip.. This will enable me to rest up before the 2nd half of the trip..

What stops are you planning? Perhaps we can compare..

I havn't started planning for my trip. Basically I'm giving myself two weeks, and afew 'waypoints' I'd like to cover, namely ChiangMai, MHS loop, Khon Kean, Bangkok, then back home.

The most tiring part for me would be SG - ChiangMai part, which I'd like to cover as quickly as possible (3 days?) so as to have more time to explore the north.

Hey guys, would any of you be interested in all weather bulbs?

I've got a pair which will fit our highbeams, but can also be easily modded to fit lowbeams.

Nokya H9 2500k 65Watt.

Are these ones brighter than the stock ones? How much ah?

Quick question for you, the ZZR1400's pilot light is using which type of bulb? I plan to change that..

If you want to do 2 weeks then Khon Kaen is out due to the distance. Unless you wanna do an hit and run. Reached the place stay over night and next day move out. I would also advise you not to go into Bangkok as it's a bikers' nightmare to get stuck in the jams.

Do you have the distance between the golden triangle and doi inthanon and doi inthanon to Mae Salong? I couldn't get it from Google Maps.

I'm thinking of staying an extra day at Mae Salong and taking a day trip to the Golden Triangle followed by Doi Inthanon before returning to Mae Salong again on the same day.. Do you think it's do-able?

Cheers mate..

Dude

Mae Salong - Golden Triangle = Less than 2-3 hours ride away if do it on the main roads. If your are adventurous enough do the trunk roads it will take you a whole day. At the same time on the way back go visit Mae Fah Luang.

If you wanna do Doi Inthanon suggest you stay in Chiang Mai then make a day ride there. Cos Mae Salong to Doi Inthanon is a great distance away even further than Chiang Mai..

Hey guys,

I'm back in Phuket.. The island is still pretty quiet.. Haven't really picked up for the high season.. Hopefully the hotel rates will be low during the upcoming Phuket Bike Week & Songkran.. There's a huge club/pub being built currently, right behind Jungceylon and sitting opposite Banzaan Fresh Market.. Must be happening in the near future..

Road trip counting down..
