Why not just take your bike directly to a spray painters? If you go through a middleman, as in everything else, there's going to be a markup. Check out the spray painting thread that's been stickied, there're lots of good recommendations there.

but, most of the time, they will ask u to take out the parts for spraying urself... or they will charge higher right...??

i'm afraid u r onli half correct.. the prices spray shop charge to bikeshops r diff from walk in customers.. normally bikeshops get dealerprice.. so in the end the price quotes might not be any diff..

I'd still advise bikers to check it out for themselves. Besides, if you go direct, you know who you're dealing with and what quality you can expect.

I asked for my bike (sports) and it was roughly $100 cheaper if I go direct.

Yes, if you remove the parts yourself, it'll be cheaper. But they can also disassemble for you for a small price.

Just gotta my s4 back from K&T. I claimed insurance thru them.

Overall the service done was good.. it took a good 5 weeks though but guess it was really worth it.

BUT a few minor issue..

i had to respray my bike and i wanted in gun metal. A new tank was supposed to be changed. In the end, the paint job looked great, however the honda word was damn ugly cos it was pasted sticker nt e original..

i checked wif clifford why it wasnt e original words cos i claimed a new tank and was hence was expecting him to order a new gun metal tank. n his reply was that he ordered a yellow tank hence had to respray.. sianz

Also my alarm wasnt working and my brake light wont flash..minor thing i guess that could be resolved quickly( i hope..)

PLUS POINT

was he sent my pipe for polishing outta own initiative, and it looked great..Care & attention was given by him on work done on my bike. Patient boss.

I give him a 9/10 for the workmanship and dedication to his work. -1 was because of that honda word on the tank.. haizz really cant stand it..gotta buy a bra soon..

Strongly recommended place to go for repair n servicing! UPzzz

hi.. i saw ur bike at K&T..ur gun metal colour is not the original honda colour that come with spec 3..that colour comes with ver S..no matter where u send ur bike for respray, the honda word will still always be sticker.even the original 1 is oso sticker with lacqur spray over it..

no hard feeling..lets say the colour u wanted and boon siew dun have any stocks left nd got to wait for few mths, u willing to wait?

anyway, ur bike colour is very nice.. i like that colour very much, its the same as my previous ver S.. i would say that the colour is rare

ya i realised that the gun metal is not e original.. thats why i super sianz. already sprayed liao i also cant do much.. i learn to come to terms.o_O

i made a call 2 BS and they have in stock. just sianz why my tank was to be resprayed when e color is available...

at least e repairs was properly done and attitude at K&T was very good. my only alternative to cover wif tank bra.

Rockytree, if you claimed insurance for it (remember you paid the premiums), then it's within your right to not accept a resprayed tank. If the original colour were not available, I would expect the shop to give you a call before proceeding.

but i din claim my own, i claim another driver who hit me..

i suspect is they have on stock a yellow tank, cos they intially hint me to spray yellow, but i said i want to change gun metal den they said ok ok..

e whole repair etc took 5 weeks plus and at the end of the day, they do up everything nicely liao.

Clifford said its a new tank but he just sent for spraying cos he ordered yellow.. i also tried to reject e tank the following day but he said BS no stock in gunmetal.. benefit of doubt given here.

now after close scrutiny, i suspect e few minor parts like side mirror, balancer and handlebar, rear footrest wasnt changed to new one as claimed, just recond nia. however major parts like brake rotor, meter, header, alignment was done properly .. he polished my end can also..

though e painted tank n minor parts i find v questionable and sianzz, i must also say they did a gd work w gd attitude on e other parts.. so nw its a matter of give n take lo.. i just be more mindful if i visit them again next time.

Attitude n worksmanship still better than some other bikeshop i been to ba..

would highly recommend him..

it makes sense that he can't be doing all the work, there's quite a lot of bikes going in and out of his shop if you notice..

would you have him adjusting other's chain, etc while major stuff like servicing of carbs and doing valve clearance get done by his workers or get shelved..

i believe he's doing a very good job with the task allocation already... cuz he's handling all the major servicings and the minor stuffs get served by his other mechs..
