but must use metal polish to polish 1st... cos alot of dirt sticking on the headers. but dun use autosol cos got abrasive compound. use liquid metal polish is the best. then use wax to maintain it.

after riding in the rain, use water to wash away the dirt n it can last u for some time b4 u need to wax n polish again.

Running in "Subjective"

-intial 800km speed below 7000rpm

-up to 1600km speed below 10500rpm

-over 1600 below 14000rpm

The Above is based on GSR6, so if GSR 4 maybe u can keep it lower a bir

The engine speed should be varied and not held at a constant speed in order to ensure and aids the mating process...

Operating engine at constant low speed can cause parts to glaze and not seat in...but do not use full throttle for the 1st 1600km....

Just keep below the rpm will do, no need to monitor which gear at what speed

Hello everyone, I would like to enquire about something. Can I ask you all how much would you need to spend averagely on a monthly basis for your GSR petrol consumption as well as the maintenance? Because I would want to get a GSR 400 so I want to ensure that I'm able to support it =) Many thanks in advance!

Well basically depends on your distance and usage of the bike. It is quite comparable to Super 4. The only difference is that Super 4 is having a bigger capacity fuel tank (2 litres more). Feul consumption is around 21 - 23, that is exactly the same as a Super 4.

Some Super 4 will claim that their mileage is more, some says can reach 400km which I think is not possible on a 400cc bike. Do remember that Super 4 takes its milage reading from the engine and not the wheels.

Anyway go for the one you like and can fit in your budget. Most importantly must enjoy your riding.

i'm sure you know that the magnet bag works by attaching itself to the tank

with magnetic force. this same force that prevents your bag from flying off

during riding will also make it a bit difficult to remove when you've parked.

sliding the bag off is one way to remove the bag; it's also a way to scratch

the tank.

Ooo..ok not so bad liao. I thot the magnetic field can actually dislogde the paint from the surface coz u noe how some of the paint jobs are done. they charge the paint particles and the body that is to be painted. guess i'm just thinking too much. lol

anw i got a tank bra. same color as my bike.. got it at motoworld for S$150. What you all think? price ok?

for me, i use turtle wax platinium metal polish. its not the best but its good enough. per bottle about $19 like that.

actually, its the rpm that makes the diff. not the speed. to minimise the consumption, over rev n under rev is discouraged. n to ride slow, u'll b able to get a very good FC. broquet, so far, nobody we knew used that.

LOTH....seems too slow leh...

for me its

Gear 1 : 0 - 20 kmh

Gear 2 : 20 - 40 kmh

Gear 3 : 40 - 55 kmh

Gear 6 : > 85 kmh

Too syok! Too responsive ... most of the time is higher ahahah

BUT when running in, please maintain 80km or lower at gear 6.

if judge by rpm,

Gear 1 : 3k rpm

Gear 2 : 4k rpm

Gear 3 : 4k rpm

Gear 4 : 4k rpm

Gear 5 : 4k rpm

Gear 6 : 4k rpm

that shd give a good fc as well as moderate pickup power. if need more power, rev up. if wan a slower pick up, reduce the rev. me too agree that its responsive enough that its most of the time at 5k rpm when changing gear.

thks for the enlightenment man...:thumb: :thumb:

actually, its about the same as S4. fc almost the same. only certain maintenance cost is slightly higher ie tyres, eo. n parts not so readily available. petrol consumption depends on how much u ride n how much ur wrist twist.

for me, i use turtle wax platinium metal polish. its not the best but its good enough. per bottle about $19 like that.

actually, its the rpm that makes the diff. not the speed. to minimise the consumption, over rev n under rev is discouraged. n to ride slow, u'll b able to get a very good FC. broquet, so far, nobody we knew used that.

if judge by rpm,

Gear 1 : 3k rpm

Gear 2 : 4k rpm

Gear 3 : 4k rpm

Gear 4 : 4k rpm

Gear 5 : 4k rpm

Gear 6 : 4k rpm

that shd give a good fc as well as moderate pickup power. if need more power, rev up. if wan a slower pick up, reduce the rev. me too agree that its responsive enough that its most of the time at 5k rpm when changing gear.

thks for your info...

cos box look out of place on the gsr. n we r criminals that destory the look of the gsr. :D

huh? but the box never spoil the look lei... in fact look quite stylo.. dun believe try put one...

u got a bagster tankbra, get a tankbag to go along n confirm no scratches. :thumb:

my friend put tank bag on his S4, few weeks never take out to air the tank; rain and shine, shine and rain, in the end when he open, the tank got rusty lei.. so he ask me beware... if put, make sure once awhile take out to air... i hear alrd dare not put...

btw, u guys notice gsr right side mirror a bit shakey, even though it is new... normal huh?
