  1. When is you next trip and where? I was planning to go Cameron
  2. I've read on LTA website about the legal and illegal modifications for vehicles but the limitations are pretty grey on some area. I opened this thread so that newbies like me and experienced riders can share their knowledge or learn on this matter. My questions are: 1. Changing the stock headlight to another headlight. Legal or not? 2. Changing the meter display to another meter display. Legal or not? 3. Shorten the tail tidy. Legal or not?
  3. Felt like a bum last week and was on the verge of giving up. Hahahahaha Stuck at prac 7 again and the next one (my third lesson) will be somewhere in January. From Sept to now and i'm only at prac 7. Ronnie was being a bum. He drove past us and told us that it's 8.05pm and we should be on the most left lane because bus lane time is over. But we went out from CDC at around 7.45pm so we assume bus lane is still operating. Failed for the slightest error. Another friend from Bahtera's group passed and was given a reminder about the bus lane operating hours. What luck!
  4. Thanks for enlightening me. I think I might be checking too late. I tend to check blind spot about 0.01 sec before i change lane and i only check when I'm going through the bend. Next CR I will ask the instructors their expectations and correct technique. You guys are great!
  5. Hey I need help here. I've failed 3 practical lesson 5 for the past three days and most of the time I got penalised for "Improper check of blindspot". I asked the instructor during my CR and all he said was to always check blindspot when making a turn or changing lane. So i did just that and i got penaslised again on my third try. Now can someone please refresh me on the proper technique of checking blindspot and when to check? Preferably with a marking on the circuit map or step by step (for lesson 5 route) so i can prepare myself for the next one i booked on this Sunday. Thanks in advance. Feeling a bit frustrated.
  6. Now i got a question. Does anyone know of a link with crank course tutorial? I have my prac 5 this saturday but when i go for my CR, i realize my crank course is still inconsistent. Tried working on it a few times but still poor at it.
  7. Sure you can cancel them. I've tried before although it's not literally 48 hours apart. I passed my lesson on friday night and i still can cancel the lesson i booked on sunday morning.
  8. 1. To put you bike back on mainstand, use your right leg to step on the mainstand lever. Your right hand should be holding the metal beam near the rear wheel and your left hand on the left handlebar (assuming you're on the left side of the bike). Next, you pull the beam in your right hand upwards and you pull the handle bar in your left hand backwards. Do this in one motion. 2. It's normal to brake too early or too late in our first try. And of course our body is stiff because we're newbie and we don't really trust the two wheeled beast in our first few practicals. That's why we are there to learn and the instructors are there to teach. You'll get the hang of it in a while. It needs practice to perfect it. Anyway you should ALWAYS down gear to gear 1 at ANY TIME when you're stopping. Don't go neutral unless you're going to dismount the bike. 3. I used to have the same problem when booking for practicals. The slots are limited. But from what i learn on this forum, you have to always check the CDC portal every hour to see if anyone cancelled their slots during that time. And always try to book your practicals two days apart so you can cancel them if you have passed on that day. We are given 18 cancellations so put it to good use. Hope this helps. I'm sure our senior forum members here are able to give you more tips if you ask.
  9. Yeah I just did that. Thanks darkredmica. Please enlighten me on how lesson 5 works. Do we have only one chance to do all those obstacles or we go as many times as we are able to?
  10. Finally passed my lesson 4 after 3 tries. I got a very noob question to ask. Can i book circuit revision instead of lesson 5 for practice before i go for my lesson 5? It seems like circuit revision are way cheaper than lesson 5. Not sure if it's allowed.
  11. Passed my prac 3 on my second attempt. If a noob like me can do it, so can you! I'll be on my prac 4 this weekend but both days will be at 8.30am. Hope to see you around! A prac 5 rider told me that gear 1 and gear 2 are close so just kick to gear 2 about 2 - 3 secs after moving off and it works like a charm! But i still can't maintain my throttle therefore my timing was swee swee to pass. On another note, 2 instructors have told me that i look like a drunkard when i move off because i wobble abit although both legs are already on the footrest. How do i not wobble when moving off? Tips needed
  12. Hey xuanzang, don't be too demoralised. If you think you're not doing well for prac 3, then you should ask me what happen on my first prac 3 last Tuesday haha. Prac 1 - 2 times, prac 2 - 2 times, prac 3 - ??? I had difficulty kicking up to gear 2 everytime i enter the figure of 8. Don't worry you're not alone. Anyway my next prac lesson 3 wil be on Friday at 12.45pm and Sunday at 8.30am. When is your next lesson?
  13. I am a newbie here. I'll be going for my practical lesson 3 tomorrow. Need some tips as I know that the slope, fig 8 and crank course is very very challenging. Someone please enlighten me. Plus I've seen people saying that jirac have the most in depth tutorial but i couldn't find his post anywhere. Can someone give me the link to his forum? Thanks in advance
