  6. IMO there is no right or wrong in supply and demand. really principle of value is different from person to person. No point bring insults into this civilised forum. But I am genuinely interested in some of the bikes mention here. Problem is the seller's worth of his bike and my worth of his bike is totally different. So no willing buyer, no willing seller. I am more concern about the bread and butter bikes as these are the bikes that affect most of us here. I am lucky enough to know a friend's cub is selling. I am willing to pay his paper value and 1.5k for the cub's body. So in this case I know there are no major problem with the bike, just normal wear and tear. I see ppl selling cubs, 2b road bikes at crazily high price and I tried nego with them with intend to buy from them, but non agreed with my concept of pay for left over paper value and body price and they don't even let me test ride. Some even says I am a dealer... I feel so insulted but I kept to my own principles that have prevented me from getting into trouble. Hence its not easy to find a good deal even in this forum anymore, I don't trust the crooks in the shops selling 2nd hand bikes. I hate to deal with shops. Got cheated a few times and learnt from those lessons. There are prata flippers 24/7 viewing this forum and catching all the good deals to prata. I myself also hope the price of COE bikes will fall so that I can upgrade. So to each his own, we agree to disagree. and to add, IMO COE bikes have no residual value compared to COE cars. Simply because scrap yards can export the cars to other countries hence COE cars have values up to a few thousand. Its not that bikes cannot be exported, its no other countries want the import 10 year old bikes.
  7. Hi Kzone bro, if ppl are nice enough since COE increased, I think its fair to say we use the current COE price multiply by the left over years plus about 200$ for your TA200 body. $2100 is a fair price. if not since its not renewable, ppl use the paper value of your COE which will be about 1000+200 body? 1.2k will be the price shop is going to take it in.
  8. 5) Diversion 900 COE expire 2023 Selling 16k Depreciation per yr = $2k Problem is the bike only have the COE value of 2k. the appropriate depreciation of a COE bike should be around 1k. You pay 16k, straight you lost 14k if you want to sell to shop unless you found a super enthusiast of Diversion which I doubt so.
  9. teambhp, you reinforced my concept on buy and selling in Singapore. the price is crazy and I wouldn't pay more then 800$ per year for a bread and butter transport.
  10. I would pay the remaining COE paper price plus 5k for the body. But having said that, the maintenance of this bike is not cheap too. 5K is a lot for a body as the body has no parf or whatever.
  11. It is possible! but if and only if humans are not greedy. Its all about human physiology. If you study human physiology in marketing, you will know. There are very obvious case studies. Look at Japan and Germany and their work ethics and mentality. First world country! We only have first world infrastructure but third world mentality. I concur with mechwira for the realistic part. If we do nothing now, things will get worst for us and our next generations. I am proud to say I propagate my ideas to most of the ppl around me. Work or doesnt work, I did my part.
  12. Another POV concept I wanted to bring up is diamonds. They are absolutely valueless after you bought over from the shop. They are not rare earth and diamonds can be found in abundance on earth. The whole diamond business was a brainwash propaganda by debeers. I want to prevent another case of this.
  13. Yeah bro, we need you ppl to help me propagate my wonderland! Please tell your friends and family about it. They will say we are crazy, but if we dont be crazy, the world will be more crazy! For the good of bikers! HDB and properties are way out due to the invisible hands. And this invisible hands have tasted success and is greedy to want more from COE. We must stop them!! I know its futile, at least I tried. Anyway to change ppl's perception is equal to brainwash. Anything that involves COE and properties is controlled by invisible hands.
  14. mechwira you sound like a salesman. Well, your concept of supply and demand is not flawed but your concept of perceptional mechanics are. Most ppl are brainwashed by the sales, marketing and invisible hands. The invisible hands are everywhere and it created an artificial market all due to manipulation of human physiology. I wont say I want to educate, I would prefer to enlighten the others. The more ppl who are enlighten, the market will not be so inflated due to "perception". Perception of value has no value. It is subjective. If the buyer like the HDB/bike/car, he is willing to pay the sky. That is how cooling measures works. Invisible hands can change anything they want, but if we resist, there is nothing the sellers can do but lower the price. Everyone is in this rat race, those enthusiast must be damn rich while the others are not. If everyone thinks like you do, kuddos to the invisiblehand. They have successfully brainwash you.
  15. I knew you will mention rare and collectible bikes. Those are special haha. for normal 2b bike, I feel there are nothing special about them. To me they are just basic transportation. These are causing the 2nd hand normal bikes to sky rocket. I pity those ppl who need to buy an inflated bike now. I remember in 2006 to 2010, the bikes are freaking cheap. 2nd hand bikes can go as low as 400$ per year.
