  1. yay! thank you throttle for the generosity! let me know when it's convenient for you =)
  2. roger that, will heed your advice... just to try my luck here... anyone has unwanted cigar boxes here? thanks for your help and suggestions throttle...
  3. im not that big on smokes but occasionally enjoy something mild while single malt, wine and serious beer take chunks out of me. i have had good experiences with cigar and malt pairing (well arranged by a friend). so i'll like to explore but slowly and without busting my already bust pockets... i'm thinking of doing a tuppledor for my buddy and i to keep 4 - 6 smokes (ideas from all the different forums). where can i get macanudos btw and what are those famous nicaraguan, CAO, Gurkha smokes like? i see that they are cheaper... really appreciate the help.
  4. ok im terribly sorry =/ thanks.
  5. hello guys =) where can i get a good bargain for a small humidor? this might be absurd but i'm willing to spend anywhere from 30 to 50 bucks. thank you!
  6. hey nightstalker, glad that you liked your laphroaig. i'll be including a laph 10 yo cask strength to my collection soon! can't wait, you know how long it takes a nsf to save up for a bottle of single malt! i've tasted the 10yo, quarter cask, 10 yo cask strength and sherried 30 yo. back to the point =) your invitation is very tempting unfortunately not yet. i'll pick this up real slow because whisky alone is killing me. i'm still looking for a decent place to drink/smoke (decent corkage) e.g marriott's pool grill. out of curiousity, how much was your dram of laphroaig? if you're keen, do check out La Maison Du Whisky, it's near conD (@ robertson, near harry's and tasting notes). they really know their whisky. i just received an email regarding the soft launch of The Whisky Store (@ havelock rd), used to be at Cairnhill but gone for some time. decent selection too. now to think back, my first smoke (monte 4) was from conD.
  7. sounds really good. i can't seem to locate con divan online. do you happen to have their number? and how much would a monte 4 costs at con divan? what would you recommend for something medium? at below 25 bucks? we're actually pairing for whisky so i'm thinking of a medium smoke that doesn't dominate a cask strength whisky and for 3 of my friends. thanks man. i'll join you guys some day perhaps =)
  8. okay, thanks for the suggestion throttle but do they have reasonable corkage charges? im looking at 30+/- for corkage. hmm some questions i haven't found answers to. just to understand price difference at dfs and dutied. how much would a box of 10/25? monte cristo 4 costs? and i've been reading about smokes like Famous Nicaraguan 3000 etc. how do they differ from the cuban brands and how much in cost? sorry to trouble. thank you.
  9. hello there, i'm having a whisky session with my friends next friday and i thought it'll be interesting to smoke as well. any idea where i can do that? nice ambience and reasonable cockage. i bought my second cigar at UE square during a whisky session at robertson and i vaugely remember that the cigar store says "bonta". that's not the con'd you guys been talking about right? i bought my third cigar from davidoff hilton. it was a petite edmundo. erm i don't know i thought it was too strong for me. thank you.
  10. hello there, this is my first post. i've been quite intrigued by the montecristo 4 i was offered couple of weeks back and decided to google on the local smoke scene. apparently there isnt much to offer from the local scene (online) but i'm glad i found this. i am a single malt fan and was offered a smoke during a single malt session. i also hear that cigar goes well with whisky (of course selected). it was a sensational experience having the comforting warm/dense smoke aroma and obvious hints of vanilla yet subtle and along with the different whisky drams i had (one of them being so limited that it's prob the only bottle here in sg). anyway this is my check-in and greetings to you guys out here. i have a simple blog but it serves more as a repositry for my track list. http://www.anotherdram.blogspot.com and regarding the prices, where can i have the best prices (i'm really new to this). i'm a nsf so it'll be tough on my pocket juggling both single malt and cigar and i'll start really slow. deciding on the monte edmundo/petite edmundo (relative to monte 4) perhaps more vanilla and medium smoke? i'll prob have one without whisky this time to appreciate the orignal strength and characteristics it can exude. please advice and... pleasure to meet you guys.
