  1. Thanks. I'll go buy a tire pressure gauge this week and check.
  2. I'm 130 kg and 1.92m. So I stick out quite a bit beyond the windscreen. The bike runs fine, it just has really bad FC I bought gas tonight and it was 17 km/L
  3. Wow. I'm only getting 220km before the gas light comes on. Do you have any parts that might increase my mileage? I'm heavy also but am really depressed with my Evo 200 fuel consumption.
  4. So I went to future scootering and they fixed my idle/shutoff issue by tweaking the carburetor setting for free I hoped this change would also help my Fuel Consumption, but it doesn't seem to have helped. I'm getting around 18-19 km/L. Much lower than what others seem to get (24+ km/L). I figure that I'm heavier (130 kg) and taller (193 cm) so that should account for some of my worse FC. I ride on the highway 70% of the time and local roads the other 30%. Is my FC right? Any suggestions on how to get it looked at or improved? Thanks!
  5. What's the address of the Kallang Mac? I can't find it in streetdirectory.com. I doubt I can make it, but I will try.
  6. So I've ridden my X9 for a few weeks now and noticed that my fuel economy is really bad. Around 19 km/L. About 60% of my riding is on the highway. I'm also pretty big, 1.92m and 125 kg, so I figure I should get worse fuel economy than most. But 19 km/L seems much worse. Also, my bike sometimes stalls when I leave it idling too long, especially on a down hill slope. I'm planning to take it to AS Phoon to have them look at it, but if anyone has any ideas I'd like to hear them. Thanks!
  7. I didn't notice the temperature move much except slowly upwards. But I didn't look at it too much when riding. It was my first time riding in Singapore traffic so I was paying more attention to that. But at each stop light, it seemed that it was higher than before. Since I didn't hit the red, I'm not sure if the fan kicked on. Is the fan very loud when it turns on? The surrounding temp was around 35 degrees. The coolant I didn't check since I just picked it up from AS Phoon and they said that they topped it up that day.
  8. Hi. I just bought an FX plate X9 this week from AS Phoon. I've only ridden it three times now, but it seems to get awfully hot. Coming home from AS Phoon I went about 7 km in 20 minutes (lots of stop and go traffic and local roads) and by the time I got home the temp was almost in the red. This morning going to work (almost all expressway) the temp stayed in the middle until I got off the highway when it made it to 3/4 hot before I got to work. Again, coming home it got 3/4 hot after I got off the highway. Is this normal?
  9. Hi. I am considering buying a used X9. I went with the owner today to have it looked at by a mechanic and one of the items the mechanic said that needed to be replaced/repaired is the central axle bushing and it would cost $200+. Could someone tell me the importance of this bushing and if it realy is necessary to replace it?
  10. Haha. I hope I will like it. But I still definitely need to try one before buying it. It's a little too much money to spend blindly.
  11. I called: Piaggio Asia Pacific (Pte) Genting Rd Singapore 349478 (65)6547 4466 and was told that they didn't have any 200cc X8. I'll try again tomorrow. Is that the right number to call?
  12. So I called the Genting road location and they only have new Piaggio's. Since I'm limited by the 2B, I'm really looking for a 200cc X8 or X9 to try out. Is there anyone that would let me try their bike in a car park? I'd buy lunch or snack at a hawker center.
  13. Thanks. Will call them today to see if I can set something up with them Hope they have an X8 for me to try.
  14. I went to AS Phoon last night to look at their used X8. While it looks like a nice bike sitting on its main stand, I found out that you're not allowed to test ride it before buying it. Coming from the US, this was a big shock to me. The salesman said the only way to try and test ride a bike is to find someone that has one and borrow it in a parking lot. So, I was wondering if anyone would let me test ride their X8 in a parking lot. I have a motorcycle license from the US so I know how to ride. But I just want to try out an X8 before I buy one. Thanks!
  15. Thanks for the advice! Is there somewhere else that sells the X8? I work during the week days so it is difficult to go to PSC if they do not work weekends.
  16. I think I would prefer to get a 'lightly' used ( Also, I've tried going to the Piaggio Service Center on Saturday and today but it was closed both times. Does anyone know the phone number of it? Is there another dealer I can go to? It's a bit frustrating to go to the PSC and find it closed all the time. Thanks.
  17. I'm new to Singapore and thinking of getting a X9 or X8. I'm planning to go down to the Piaggio Service Center to look at them first hand. Someone recommended the X8 for me. And I've tried to find the difference between the X8 and X9 but failed. The only one I've found is in the digital speedometer. What other differences are there between the two? Thanks!
  18. I'm looking at getting an X8. And while I haven't tried putting a golf club into its compartment, there's no way a whole golf bag would fit in there. At least not a full sized golf bag like the one I have. As long as it is not illegal, I can deal with the safety issue and resist the temptation to lane split.
  19. Since the bag is fairly big, I think it's much more dangerous to place it between my legs than on my back. If that weight shifts around, I don't want to be trying to grab it when I might need my hands for something else important, like steering Maybe I'll tie some red fabric to both ends of it like the trucks do with wide loads. Thanks.
  20. I called the TP today and they said the rule is to convert to 2B for motorcyclists and 3 for cars. This is after passing the basic theory test which is what your friend took. So what she did was by the book. Converting to a 2A or 2 license instead of 2B is what is difficult/impossible to do.
  21. Anyone have any ideas?
  22. Can someone help me understand the differences between these two? I'm attracted to the utility of a scooter with a large storage compartment. Being a big guy (1.92m, 130 kg) having a larger bike (2B) is also nice. But I can't figure out the difference between these two except for a digital speedometer on the X9. Thanks!
  23. I'm new to Singapore and was wondering if it is possible to carry a golf bag on my scooter. It has two straps so I would wear it like a backpack, but since it is so long, both ends would stick out 30-50 cm. I've done it before in other countries and as long as you are careful, there does not seem to be a major safety issue. Is this allowable in Singapore?
  24. I thought that if your foreign license was in English then you didn't need an international license permit? Everyone seems to be saying that it is harder these days to convert your license to anything other than a class 2b. So I think I'm just going to bite the bullet and get the 2b earlier. Then I'll be able to get the 2a and 2 earlier as well
  25. Thanks for the advice. Is there a specific store you recommend going to? Since I've never been to a motorcycle store in Singapore, I would appreciate any advice. Thanks.
