  2. I wish you were true, then I could continue riding..... Shanghai
  3. Ad is up. Goodbye Deauville, goodbye Singapore....... http://www.singaporebikes.com/used_bikes/16571/honda_deauville/ Appreciate if you can help spread the word Dr. Deauville, I bought the Hayes repair manual last year. I would like to donate it to you if you need a fresh one without torn pages and oil stains...
  4. NT650V... Will post pics next week
  5. Hi guys, Just a quick note that I'll be selling my beloved Deauville, since we are leaving Singapore :-( Those of you that have seen it knows it's one of the lowest mileage ( Will get a proper ad with pics up when I'm back in Singapore next week, but feel free to spread the word...
  6. I'm in as well if not traveling...
  7. I was selling for my friend. I'll keep riding my own Deauville until the next COE in 2022 or until I leave Singapore, whatever comes first... As much as I sometimes want to change ride, I still think the bike is ideal for Singapore.
  8. Bike sold after less than a week. Had 5 guys viewing, in the end it went to a young chap who knew what he wanted! Guess there is still enough people out there that value this great ride....
  9. Like the idea of handlebar though...
  10. Hi guys, Selling a nice Deauville for a friend of mine that went back to Europe. Can confirm very good condition, fairing done up at First Motor and resprayed. Would appreciate if you could spread the word, price negotiable for Deauville lovers http://www.singaporebikes.com/used_bikes/8747/honda_deauville/
  11. Damn, am in Europe until mid Sept. Have fun and hope to see you soon...
  12. First Motor 3006 Ubi Road 1 Singapore 408700 Mr. Lim
  13. Just renewed the COE on my Deauville NT650V for another 10 years. That's how much I value this bike... Still
  14. Thanks guys, my foot is almost cured already. Now it's time to care for my poor Deauville... Think I'll give her a respray, since 40% if the panels need to get painted anyway. I'm considering a really "traffic safe" color: 1. Neon green 2. Screaming orange 3. TP white 4. Low maintenance booooring silver grey What do you guys think? If I go for green or orange the bike will be quite unique for sure, and since I don't wash my bike very often, TP white may not be optimum. On the other hand the TP white sure gets you the respect you deserve! Add a white helmet and neon green vest...
  15. First accident in traffic after driving over 5 years in Singapore... Of course caused by right turning car not respecting right of way! Managed to brake almost completely, but bike tipped to the right and landed on my foot. Auch, swollen but no other damage. Bike however in need of major fairing repair (4 pieces all cracked), but First Motor only estimates less than 200 for the fiber work. Amazing! Painting is another matter. Apparently the price has increased from around 500 to 850 for full respray the last 1/2 year?? Other party was initially ready to settle, but changed mind and it's now an insurance claim. Wish me luck on that... although agent estimated that the chances are pretty good that they will have to pay it's still a hassle.
  16. For fairing repairs I can as usual recommend First Motor in Ubi. If one piece is beyond repair they will even make you a new one in fiberglass!
  17. My inspection is due in January, so we'll see how it goes. However since the LEDs are in the cockpit I would be surprised if there is a problem. That would be like banning LEDs inside the cars... Will unplug the strip for the inspection never the less
  18. It's basically just a 30cm side-looking green LED strip on top of the instruments and connected to the left & right turn-signal by diodes. Sorry about the crappy picture quality, it's not quite as flashy as the last picture (it's bright enough to be noticed in broad daylight and probably too bright for the night, but since the purpose is to get my attention it works well)
  19. Yep, and also my LED strip for the turn signal. VERY bright, so no chance of forgetting to switch that off in the future. Since they were quite busy at First Motor, I pushed the bike a bit further down the lane and after a bit of haggling I convinced one of the car hifi shops to do the wiring. Nothing against motorbike shops, but the hifi guys are one class above when it comes to electrical wiring: Right tools, cable shoes, switches etc..
  20. Just got my bike back from First Motor, where Mr. Lim as usual did an excellent job on my fairing. This time the locking system for the side box finally broke :-( Think I have had damage to more than half of the fairing so far, but they always manage to patch it back together... Also admired their restoration work on some Honda Steeds: The single seater bobber version nearly wanted me to give up my Deauville.... and then common sense kicked back in: Shaft drive, fairing, plenty of storage space: booooring but practical like hell. The Deauville is a keeper for now
  21. Date: Thurs 13 Oct Time: from 8.30pm Where: at Changi Village last kopitiam, next to the Hotel List of bros attending: 1.Resilience 2. redlavita 3. Boner 4. more1978 5. honda rider 6. holugyi 7. Nilist It's been a while...
  22. Yes, they are installed behind the right fairing. May not be the prettiest solution (you can see them through the air intake), but it works. Will take a picture when I take off the fairing, hopefully this weekend...
  23. Age? Km? Pictures would help, but it sounds cheap assuming it's not a wreck
  24. It's the only way to go if you want a wider tyre choise. The 150/70-17 rear is really rare here, so forget about selecting a specific model and then expect the local shop to be able to order it. Dunlop GT501 and Bridgestone BT45 in the low end (below $300 for a set) seems to be pretty easy to get, but if you want to spend $400 and more on a higher performance tyre, you have to ask around what is availible (I was offered Bridgestone BT020 and Metzeler Z6, nothing else) Considering the style and horsepower of the Deauville and the Singapore roads, I decided that a BT45 would do just fine for me...
  25. Changing both front & rear, and the prices are for both... Shop suggested the cheap Dunlops, saying that most NT650 users prefer them. I guess we are all a bunch of old uncles that only want cheap-cheap
