  1. Bro, I found something that you can put on the back on your GTR and that you do not have yet: Check the below link out!!!
  2. Ohayo and I, have been there twice and always missed the famous Nasi Lemak at the Kluang train station first time was sold out and second time we went there on Thursday which is their off day. Still a fun ride and a cool place to eat...
  3. Best is too schedule a tire pressure sensor battery change when you change your tires after approx 2 years time. That is what is reported in Florida where climate is humid, in the dry countries 3 years could be done, but here I will not wait this long.
  4. Yes, I got the right angle valve adapter at Regina for 5 bucks.
  5. BMW does not really compete with the 3 main tourers: ST, FJR and GTR as their price is way out of the Japanese range. But on the technology points, they keep the Jap on their toes...
  6. The fact that i cannot take the flies off, and that is has its own built up economy map is already a turn off for me...i need a PCV, auto tune and control the injection, the new ones is way too US oriented, too tame... does it also come with the heated grips in Asia too??? Just re-wire it for BBQ!!
  7. 240Km/h wow, I was still ahead of you, I was going 260km/h but i had to slow down due to a stupid Singapore car...
  8. Great, you are so due for a quick day ride to Malaysia...
  9. Today I finally completed the re-wiring of all my accessories, radio, gps, tpx and air horn, through a fuse box, it is made in the USA, not cheap but a hell of a quality product. Basically, the box goes to the Hot 12 DC of the battery along with ground and a 12+ lead to accessories bullet lead. Then all devices (max 6) are directly wired to the fuse box with each individual built-in relay and fuses, you decide the amperage based on your device and then if you want it to switch off or not with the ignition key. That way you never chance to run the battery dry if you forget to turn off your devices. So if there is problem, no need to go down to the battery just go to the box and change the fuse. It is a hell of a job, but well worth it and I highly recommend it to whoever wants to clean all the wires to the battery and have a secure and safe electrical system. Unit is very small so it fits in our glove box, which i insulated from the engine heat. Check it out at http://www.fuzeblocks.com
  10. My answer is probably a bit bias, but numbers of problems and faulty units with Bazaaz in the US, Ohayo's bike has been stranded for days due to problems with his, at least it is still under warranty. Then price wise, PC5 is far cheaper than Bazaaz and you have optional accessories such as the Auto Tune (wideband commander) to regulate your AFR in conjunction with the PC5 unit. Unit is very small. But final decision is yours to make...
  11. Bro, that is a hell of a drive for not much time spent in Phuket. Count 15 to 16 hours non stop if you want to do it one shot or spread across 2 days. That would leave you with only one day in Phuket. Then hotel wise you will be in the peak seasons of Phuket, so hotel rates will not be cheap. And the rainy seasons in Eastern Malaysia and Hat Yai might give you a difficult drive... Drive to Penang from Cameron instead you are on the other side and you are more likely to have OK weather and then less drive, hence more time to relax.
  12. Wilkipedia is a reliable source for GTR info?? Come on man you know better! Try to read US and European forums and you will have reliable info. 13.2 is the optimum AFR for the concours and tweak it down to 13 for 80% throttle. For that you need an AT 200 Auto tune hooked up to the PC5, i just installed mine, still running the map for proper auto tune then the bike will be running at its best at all time.
  13. Yes, I have it and I am super happy, I take it with me around the world, I got mine from the UK so it was preloaded with all Europe maps, then i bought from Garmin site the South East Asia one, it covers Singapore, Malaysia West and East, Brunei, Thailand, Indonesia (except Sumatra) Hong Kong and Macao. The Nuvi interface is nice, but I like the details from Ohayo Zumo 500. The best feature on the 660, unfortunately cannot be used here, is the 3D maps, in Europe it is all calibrated it is really amazing for navigation. In Singapore, I heard that they will do 3D calibration sometimes next year, so now on 3D maps, all buildings are flat. Also with the car mount, when you plug it the GPS into it, it automatically recognizes the car and configure the unit for car navigation. Nonetheless, it is a really good GPS unit, expensive, but top quality and graphic definition. If you travel out of Asia, a bunch of tips and extras to upload for tours and trips from the zumo 660 US forum.
  14. Do not book the rooms direct use an agent, I have a good one and it saved me 30% from country lodge quote, also cheaper rates that what Alan quoted us when we went ourselves in August.
  15. Kawa said only one color worldwide, dark brown.
  16. He's got a bazaaz but flies are still on...flies on the wall where they belong, unleash the beast...
  17. I would strongly suggest that you get the PCV coupled with the AT-200 Auto tune commander for PC5 and constantly regulates your AFR, for the GTR it is happy at around 13.2:1 , if you remove your flies, you have to have it to make sure your bike does not run too lean.
  18. The ECO mode on the 2010 model is linked to the secondary throttle, that means you cannot remove the flies on this bike. Or never use the ECO mode. Heated grips, if standard what are we gonna do in Singapore with it, hook it up to a BBQ?
  19. If they put the glove box on the left ide, but why only one side, they could have put another one the right side as well...
  20. Yes, I saw that even a slightly different look with the fairing being a bit more protective, however i am dissapointed with the addition features except for the traction control, all the rest are far better with after market farkles. And who needs heated grip in Asia. They basically added up features that we all added ourselves but with far more choices available and more control such as PCV or Bazzazz for fuel economy maps. Kawa is in trouble financially ( no more engine next year in Moto GP) so all these minor tweeks will make us believe that they had developed something for the 2010 but except for the KTRC we have it already on the bike. Next question is pricing, it is priced 15% higher than the 2009 in the US of A, let's see how much our dear Evershine hammers us with... Down to personal, I am far more happy with the 2008 and 2009 models as you can chose all the modifications you can do.
  21. Hi Kawa riders, Next week we will have a dinner ride to Kulai for Seafood. Friday October 16th. Meet up at 930pm at Esso GP. Let me know if you guys are interested. 1. Frenchbiker x 2 2. Ohayo x 2 3. Eric x 2
  22. No If"s", it does!!
  23. You fell for it!! This video was shot in 2007, nothing new about it and all Kawa dealers i talked to in Europe or US know that there are no such things coming anytime soon on the GTR, but dreams are never too good to be true...coz prototypes can become street legal someday.
  24. First make sure the bike is well run in, my advice to you: do not remove the flies unless you install a fuel injection commander such as PCV or Bazzaz, with autotune accessories. You would risk of running your engine too lean and it could be seriously damaged in long term. With auto tune commander you will always keep the air/fuel ratio around 13:1, my bike is very happy and purring around AFR 13.2. Finally, with the flies out, it is far more difficult to handle the bike in city, you lose the smoothness at low rpm, and no margin for error, so make sure you mostly keep your bike for touring out of Singapore. Ride safe.
  25. My Dynojet, on same bench as Ohayo, done by same mechanic: Torque 93 lb/ft HP 146.92 You should witness my torque at 2000 RPM, with PCV and flies out, Ohayo has, and it is bye bye... I have a big "wow" factor on mine
