  1. Bro, I had the same problem before. bike cannot travel past 3.5 to 4rpm. my bike could start and can travel for about 10 to 15 minutes before it cuts off automatically and could not start again. I had to let it cool down say for about 5 minutes before i can start again. if you have the same experience as i had, u can try changing your CDI as your circuit board aka cpu aka brain of your bike electrical system is damaged. i hv a spare CDI that i'm selling off at only $100 (retail price is $120 if not wrong). lastly, it can be because of your stator aka magnetic coil that is damaged.

  5. hey ppl, if you are sharp enough you would have noticed that there is an advertisement in this forum by Leovince exhaust pipes. It is stated that the pipes are approved by LTA. I went to their website and saw they have pipes for SYM but it doesn't say if it is compatible with GTS 200. Anyone tried their pipes on your GTS 200 or knows if it is legal or not? By the way, I keep refreshing the page but I don't see that banner ad anymore. I will keep looking for it. If anyone sees it, please help us by posting the contact person's number here k? Thanks peops!
  6. damn it! zhun bo? I didn't know it's only a piece of rubber leh! anyway ah, I wasn't free enough to go down to check it out due to work so I just agreed to it. Now I felt I should hv been there to see what it is like and if it's a piece of rubber only like what u've described, I would have bargained a little. By the way, I've place the title of this reply as "SYM GTS200 Replacement of Diaphragm May Not be Worth $70!" so that other users may be able to find this reply on google. I feel everyone should do the same so that all users can benefit from all of our experiences when they need help.
  7. wah! 11k??! quite ex wor...saw a 3-wheeler bike at Tai Hin once and that was an impressive bike on top of its three wheels la and it already cost some $11k..Joymax 300i got worth that much ma?
  8. Updates... I brought my bike to MAH Motor for repairs...by the way, they are the sole agent for SYM. I saw boxes and boxes of SYM products at their store. So maybe we don't have to worry so much about buying spare parts. jus hv to worry abt their prices.. *chuckles* Their diagnosis was that something called a "diaphragm" in the carburator was damaged and couldn't seem to "pull up" or something like that. I got it fixed for $70 and did some welding for my exhaust pipe and total amounted to about $125. Now my bike's acoustic/sound is quieter than before and it also sounds pretty close to that of Silverwing's. The idling RPM is at about between 1.6 to 2 now. I'll be refueling soon and shall test my fueal efficiency soon. Shall update again.
  9. Sheez...my bike died on me at lane 1 of Orchard Road today...sianz..had to park in town to wait for tow truck on Monday. anyone has encountered this problem before? I couldn't get it to throttle pass 4k rpm ley..and I've to slowly increase little bit by little bit.. it can still start but just that if I attempt to go pass 4krpm, it will stall. It was already braking back and forth before today's episode. Sometimes I can feel a braking effect when I close throttle at about 90km/h. What's up man...it's even braking harder than engine brake and it can be pretty abrupt until I hv no choice but to open throttle by quite a lot again to regain speed and try to slow down a few times until possible... by the way, anyone knows how to tune the idle RPM?
  10. thanks bro! most probably going to Tai Hin to change one this week. just curious, anyone changed at M'sia before if it is cheaper?
  11. Hi guys, been riding my baby for awhile and it has ran almost 60k km liao. Recently, it is starting to jolt back n forth especially when I'm riding any speed below 70km/h. I went to check out with this bike shop near the intersection of Upp Bukit Timah Road n Woodlands Rd of which the name of the shop I can't remember n they claimed it is my belt problem. They said maybe it's time to change it considering the fact that I hv not changed it for a yr plus n I've not taken note of my mileage the last time I got it changed at FS. Is anyone facing the same problem? Anyone knows where can I get SYM belt at a gd price besides FS n how much is it?
  12. hmm..back alley? what goodies does he offer?
  13. bro....my fuel gauge meter is driving me crazy ah....im goin to mah motor to rectify this bloody problem.....any of u wanna join me?.....sms me at 91029720....we confirm time and date....then all go together....if any of u guys can live with ur "equalizer" fuel meter....good luck...heheh....i cant.... hi bro, did mah motor manage to rectify the fuel gauge problem for u?
  14. I'm not sure abt it bro but I think you can try observing the speed of the general traffic when riding past speed cameras as compared to yours. Check your speedometer while doing that to see if it is below the speed limit. that's what I always do. not sure if there is a more accurate way to do it though.
