  1. Hello all, Thanks for the advice. Been rather busy lately and didn't really go ride around to run-in bike. Just ride to work everyday and so still less than 500km total. Following the maneul instruction, I am still keeping less than 4000rpm for the first 1000km. Seems to take forever, sometimes feel like just throttling up! Now i am better with shifting gear, more smoother now using a bit more throttle. Going to enjoy this bike for a long time. Thanks again guys.
  2. Hello guys, i just got my tdm last week! Still in the process of running it in and getting used to the bike. Rode less than 400km so far! Need some advice from the experts here . Firstly, what is the speed range to change a gear up? My machine tend to "vibrate" (knocking sound) when i twist a throttle a bit too fast. Can cruise comfortably at around 60kph in 6th gear with rpm at around 2000-3000? Or maybe should use 5th gear? Is it normal for big bikes to heat up quite fast? Stationary it takes about 10 minutes to reach red temp. zone. Anyway, i really like this bike. Very nimble and light even compared with CDC's Fazer 600! Thks.
  3. Thanks. I have heard that BT020 (Bridgestone right?) quite good. Well anyway good to know that there are choices of 18' tyres around. Well, i am now waiting for the COE bid before i can get my TDM. Hope it wouldn't shoot above $1000
  4. Hello tdm riders, Just wondering is it easy to get the 18" front tyre becos not a popular size? Any recommendations of other brands rather than using back the originals? Thks.
  5. Thks, now i see what you meant by using brackets. I think it should do the job as long as the weight is not to heavy. So, now i only have to think about which Givi model box to get!
  6. Thks alot. Will check it out Yeah i think will get a higher screen, but have to hunt for money first! Touring is what i have in mind after getting the bike
  7. Thks for all the suggestions about top box mounting. Will source around for best way to mount it when my bike arrives sometime late April. Can't wait for it to come lah Any idea how much a mainstand should cost? And whether it is worthwhile to get a higher windscreen?
  8. Mounting directly with Givi base plate is what I have in mind. Maybe need to drill at least one extra hole in the grab bar to hold it firm! But quite a pity to drill holes in the grab bar. Original Yamaha top box too expensive lah. So maybe have to get the wingrack afterall.
  9. Yeah right, was quoted ~ $18000 for first party insur at Hong Leong. But no other goodies included, no accesories nothing, only 2 free oil change servicing. Is it the norm btw? And I am wondering if possible to fix a givi top box/mount directly on the grab bar?
  10. Hello all, i finally passed class 2 today! So i went straight to Hong Leong, Dili, Loo's to check out the tdm. Hong Leong quoted $17800, the rest quoted more than $18000+. I also look at other enduro-type bikes at Loo's and saw the V-strom 650, just like its 1000cc big brother but only single exhaust. However, TDM seemed more compact!
  11. Thanks for the well wishes. Am riding the good old DR200. Light and nimble thats why a bit worry about riding a class 2 bike twice the weight! But tdm seems to be the lightest and economical of the big multi-purpose bikes, thats why it is my no.1 choice so far.
  12. Thanks comics00! Will check it out first thing if i pass my class 2 on the 23/3!
  13. Yeah me too! Is it Hong Leong?
  14. Thanks for advice bro. Still riding a 2B bike lah, so big bikes like damn heavy!
  15. Hi, from what i read here, i think gonna get this bike after i pass my class 2 TP this month! Super fuel economy and cheap to maintain for a big bike! But have a couple questions. Is it heavier than Fazer600? I taking lessons at CDC and found those full tank Fazers difficult to lift up on its side. Maybe i need to go gym more. How about the height? Can someone standing at 1.68m comfortably straddle the bike?
