  1. It was $150 back on 2011.
  2. I had multiple encounters like that. Hong Leong kept saying it's the fuel pump and I replaced on 2 occasions. Workshop think battery and I replaced on 2 occasions. The problem was eventually resolved when the supply to the In-Vehicle Unit was only switched on when the motorcycle was switched on (the workshop connected it to same circuit as tail light). Previously, it's tapping directly from the battery, so the IU will drain the battery even without riding.
  3. So you changed to a "type 4"? Is there a way to tell what type a battery is - is it written on the battery? My battery was changed once, I just assumed it's same size = same type.
  4. I don't know whether my symptoms are considered similar. There was this period of time, sometimes when I stop at traffice light in Neutral, with signal light and brakes, the engine and temperature indicators might light up. The rpm bounces between 1 and 0. Once, the engine even died on me. When I checked with the service centre, one of the staff suggested unplugging the main fuse and giving the contacts a good clean. It worked but have to be repeated every so often. Since having my fuel pump replaced, the above symptoms (engine + temp indicators light up, engine dying after braking+N+signal) never appeared again. But nowadays, when I start up the bike (not yet the engine), the light is usually quite dim. I'm wondering if my relaxed riding style is causing the battery to be insufficiently charged, or is the alternator undersized, or is the bike's electrical load too much? Anyone encounter similar electrical problems with their bike? Any experts can share? Is changing the alternator possible, and will it help?
  5. Update: Managed to top up with battery (distilled) water liao. Seems that there's no need to open up the panel with the 'fz150i' completely. Just unscrew it and shift it just enough to remove the triangular panel beside it. After that can see the coolant reservoir cap already. Thanks for the inputs everyone!
  6. Yup, level ground, centre stand. If I remember correctly, got one time I thought got steam come out near the front right of my bike. Thought just my imagination. Only recently saw that the radiator cap is also on the front right... Dunno whether it means some steam did escape that time?! If I'm reading the manual correctly, the panel is the one with the 'fz150i' sticker. I'll try again this weekend... maybe post a pic. Thanks thanks. I'm also quite worried about the coolant. Right now, when idling at traffic light, can feel the engine heating up...
  7. Hi all, My 2 month old fz150i has finished running in. I noticed the coolant reservoir is on the 'empty' mark (ie. half full?). Need some help on how to top it up. I've looked through the manual, removed the 4 screws (+ 1 bolt) from the left panel, then tried to remove the panel from the bike but seems that the panel still remains attached somehow to the tail light. I unscrewed the panel on both sides and still remain the same. I don't dare to pull with too much force... Am I doing it wrong? Anyone can advice how they top up the coolant for their fz150i? Thanks.
