Guys additional info
meant as onboard unit for cars, this unit has 2 thermometer powered by 3A batt
1st thermo is in the body itself - it reads 0 dec C to 50 deg C (inside temp)
2nd thermo is connected to a pair of cable with sensor at the end -50deg C to 70deg C (outside temp) no, we can't use it to monitor engine temp.
the Volt meter cable by default connects to the ciggy lighter (need to cut-off)
Connection:
Eldo - I've connected the voltmeter to the forever-ON lowbeam headlight instead of the pilot light less hassle, same effect. doing so, i was able to avoid splicing the existing wires.
The temp sensor cables was rolled and tuck behind the pilot light (including the sensor, dont need it)
Waterproofing:
I've not done any sealant work, rode it through the rain many times, yet it still works. i keep it covered at the carpark though.
Theft:
I'm a bit paranoid of the damage a thief might make if someone would steal it.
Tashi's bright idea... solve the water and theft issue...
Cable Connectors:
to connect and disconnect anytime.
Found a 2 cable connectors (for less than 2bucks?) at Sim Lim Tower,
Mounting:
use velcro to mount it on/off anytime... instead of double sided tape
Its makes it easier for a thief who knows what to look for... but at least, a clean slice wont damage a bike
Perhaps we can do this DIY project together
