some of us have to be considerate. just dont over rev at night or in multi storey car parks where your sound can disturb residents. when i went to pay my summmon, the lady told me they did receive complaints of loud bikes at night. we shall not stress our concern on other bikes. just concentrate on our bikes. anyway, the fine for exhaust is always $500, irregardless of how many times you are stopped. the LTA officer told me. They can also come to your car park, take photo of your bike and exhaust, and send you letter for inspection. if you fail the inspection, $500 is out of your pocket. So lets not give anyone the opportunity to donate money to the govt. i'd rather give it to the needys or the orphange. Cheers. i agree with most of you guys... i also agree aftermarket exhaust for HD is illegal. reason? all kind of bullshit. like i posted earlier :- 1. speeding lorry with 10 workers - endanger workers life and other road users. fine? some points, most to most $200. 2. aftermarket exhaust (not illegal ah) VnH, bassani, thunderheader etc not illegal - $500 see any logic? why dont approve HD exhaust? anyway, after u get caught first time, the summon doubles and third time, u go up to court. those got caught before sure scared. pay money all can pay... but i think going up to court for exhaust.. totally unreasonable... just ride smart, and safe. dont over rev in ur carparks. many assholes will get angry! LOL!

The fellas who usually stop our riders are locals... no 22 and no 23 are the main ones that stop harleys n ducatis. its becoming a trend actually after asking around within some frens. bigger cc bikes naturally produce louder sounds... its the baffles in the exhaust that quietens it down. kup chai can hav full system yoshimura exhaust... our neighbouring country kup chai riders can have pipes as loud as a helicopter.. it seems like double standard.. wierd law without giving good explaination...

i went to the inspection centre to get my bike inspected. the inspector told me the passing sound is 99db. u guys can trying asking them the next time u go for inspection, but asked after passing ur inspection. not before! speeding lorry with workers : points and abt $200 summon illegal exhaust : $500 i dont get the logic here. speeding vehicles, endangers lives on the road. does exhaust do the same? how loud the pipes are, it takes time before u have hearing problems. crazy laws. but malaysian bikes are much much louder then HD. ride smart. ride safe! cheers!

i agree with haq_sarah. we do rides and event. they want harleys because of its attraction. after event over, we attract lta and tp. Kinda wierd. Something should be done. Our aftermarket pipes are not approved due the sound level. passing is only 99db. my grandma can fart louder. arse! 49 states with modified exhaust, still kena. 500. no chance, no talk. go inspection. i dont wanna pay to the govt!!!!!!!!!!!!

they are all coming down hard on harleys and ducatis. they might be thinking, those who can afford bigger bikes can pay bigger fines. phython exhaust on a road king is soft on the idle (carb model)... but loud on the throttle. i ever went inspection with bassani, i cleared. bassani is more of bassy. anyway the passing sound on throttle is 99db. anything more, $500 makes a hole in ur pocket. ride safe and please dont give money to the garmen. not worth. i try my best to even avoid erp. why shld i pay erp when i have paid road tax n coe. knn ccb.

Dear HD riders just some information to share with all, so that we dont waste our money by "donating" it to the govt. any aftermarket exhaust are illegal. modification of baffles are also illegal. if u are stopped by the lta on road, you will be called in for inspection immediately, escorted by lta to the inspection centre. if after office hours, you will go on ur own the next day. the first time fine is $500. tp will summon mainly on road safety, eg helmet, handlebars, dangerous riding, speeding etc. i dont know why the f*uck they dont allow aftermarket exhaust for hd. anyway, ride safe.. n try ur best not to donate money to the govt. we rather spend the money on chrome accessories. I just got stopped today, using python 3. arse! cheers!
