  1. where to get motard rim to fit the NX4? maybe even complete wheel set so can swap during inspection..
  2. hello. i just got an NX4. rode a bit las weekend up north. Fun bike. Good on trunk roads. Corner well. Good in dirt too. But on highway past 100 and lots of vibes and engine shaking itself to death. Didn't dare redline it. Rear tyre is non spec (130/80-17 vs 12/90-17). Bikes in the shop now getting serviced. Any ideas? Thinking maybe the carbs need rejecting or front sprocket swapped to 16t? Which shops u guys usually go to? thanks

  10. update: Bike available.
  11. check owners update here: http://www.singaporebikes.com/used_bikes/12975/triumph_speed_triple/
  12. You've said it. this is the MAIN point. The only point. Above all else, peace of mind is priceless. :thumb: but now that u mentioned rectifier and coil.. anyone experience any issue with these items on mt?
  13. wow... bro, that' ex.. don't get me wrong, i dont mind spending if its worth it, but this is mad. the batt type is GS GT14B-4 or YUASA YT14B-4 or -BS, as found from net. Fazer forum guy here, bought the yuasa type from LAB for $105 bucks! one-zero-five-dollar-singapore-money! I haven't tried changing the MT-01 batt yet, but it's under the seat, just a rubber strap holding it down. Open the seat, remove strap, remove terminals and drop in new batt. what workmanship involved did they charge for? What's the extra cost for? The other 188? for coffee and cigarettes? beer and pizza? cos I know they don't have pretty girls to service customers there, just one fat dude, too busy surfing the net. (people somehow tend to show true color when I turn up in shorts, singlet and lowyar cupkia, as opposed to driving there in business clothes... hehe. so beware the lauyar kupkiaman!... ) Now my batt is also dying, cos the horn sound is twitchy and it cranks slower when starting up. when time comes, I'll go the diy way and buy the yuasa from LAB and do the swap myself and let u guys know how hard (or easy) it was and what the total cost is. Maybe even try to put up pics for reference. P.S: to be fair though, major surgery should go to proper authorites. In the MT's case, this means HL. Things like overhaul, clutch plates, engine gaskets, major engine stuff then these guys are logically the best qualified. For other minor issues, like tyres, brakes, eo, pads, may be better off with small scale shops (with lower overheads and cheaper prices) P.P.S: has anyone noticed how small angelina jolie's b00bs have become in the movie Salt? What is happening to the world man??!
  14. inline 4 with redline at 11k rpm versus v-twin with redline at 5.5k rpm? do the math man. but actually, was out riding with my buddies ( 2 cbrs, 1 gixx and a 1098) up to mersing, and besides the fact that the mt and the duc had small fuel tanks, fuel consumption was same for all. about 13~15 clicks per liter. bear in mind, we were riding at an ...ahem.."enthusiastic" pace.
  15. also, speaking of lumpy, true enuff, my number plate got shaken off while riding to mersing last week. ha-frickin-ha. still havent gone round to fixing it yet. madam insists I pick her up from work with the "noisy bike". so i obliviously riding around town with a number plate with electrical tape. whoa...
  16. Hi adrian, I have the service manual and parts fiche.. let me know and I can email to you. It has info about servicing frequency and oem part numbers. Also surf the MTOC forum. Those guys also know quite a bit. never been to yammie dealer so dont know them. Personally though.. I prefer to DIY. All according to the manual though. Things I can't diy I bring to bike shop like bikewerkz and standby full time while they servicing. X files: trust no oneo_O. but some of my buddies say that HKL pretty knowledgeable tho..
  17. good question. Dont know about the sym. But let me tell u my experience with the taiwan brand. my kymoc 250 cc scooter died. Had it only for 8 months. did all the maintenance. Figure the crankshaft or conrod bearing went. Could hear metal grinding. It could spark, and it could combust, albeit the briefest of times. But couldnt keep turning. this taiwan brand was my first to give up and die without warning. All during my daily 6 km ride to work. mech guy claims previous owner never took care. 8 months ago told me the opposite, said the owner took good care. funny+amnesia+dyslexic=bullsh1t. mine was a 2005 model. They MAY have improved. I dont know. I'm not buying them again. .
  18. hehe.. oops.. thot u were on a duc in your avatar. zed'a a good bike. fun, light like a bicycle and very pretty. But the MT is something else!
  19. haha... Yeah.. happened already. on 1 side the numberplate nut got shaken loose. Lucky notice before the whole thing fell of. and yes.. the signals shake very funny. like leaves in the wind. and yes again, the rust on the nuts is stupid of Ymaha. thats the only odd issue. strange how the rest of the bike is so well made but the nuts are crap. But still...all minor side effect of a big stomping engine bashing away like a jackhammer at the elements. imagine that: sh1t gets shaken off cos the power pulses from the engine are TOO d@mn massive. I mean how frickin cool is that? where else can u find stuff like this? a few of bikes come and go, change here, change there, try different.. but this bike, MT01 is really special man:thumb:
  20. hey adrianslacker, got it machine price 13.5k. '06 model. I think i got a pretty damn good deal. its a frickin mt01 man. frickin sledgehammer and oozing with quality. finishing all top notch. if u find one; buy it! u will not regret. last time i rode a z1000 and use to hang out at changi v with a group of guys all riding nakeds. 1 guy riding a slick black MT with BOOMing staintune, told me again and again to get it. i still remember. told me not to waste time on sportsbikes... i didnt listen. i sold the z and got a cbr instead.. So if ur reading this Andrew, u were f*ckin right. :oshould have listened to u long time ago man. hard to find on market nowadays. I looked for more than a year and couldnt find.... so i guessed: if not in shop, not on road, and nobody selling, means owners must love it too much to sell it off. Now that I got one i realise i was right! its a real keeper. anyway just keep ur fingers crossed.. i will post if i see any.
  21. yes. very interested. pm you:thumb:
  22. haha. settled the funky steering. went and did wheel balancing. all ok already. mechanic said it was funky out of balance. something like 35 grams. I figure maybe the tyre rejected?? or install wrong? anyway, using sportec m3. but still, best 15$ ever spent. Now can pull quite stable. also, saw another mt01 on the road on the way back. kaki bukit there. black, fbc 2*5*. look like young guy.. anyone here??
  23. yes, got it from excel. its not gun metal. tank and mudguard is green/blue, chassis is silver, exhaust is also silver. fantastic man... the noise, the vibration, the wind blowing.. this bike got real presence. stop and blip the throttle already happy.. bbRRAAAAPPP!! can hear each piston individually firing. boom, boom, boom, boom. odd feeling, damn SHIOK! couldn't really push the bike cos felt the steering wobble a bit. nothing to do with the design, more with wear and tear and maintenance. can feel stable aaround turns, but becos the buzzing so couldnt push. very slight but can feel. during straight line whacking also can feel stable but the buzzing is there. Nobody complain about those so must me inherent to mine. I think maybe my steering bearing need to tighten or change?? or forks need to service? or wheel bearings?? saw the mt forum about using skf bearings instead of the lauyar oem ones. anybody tried those?? ideas? top end is decent for a push rod driven air cooled engine. saw something like 217 at 5k+ rpm before neck cramp! the beat or rythmn is easy. on sports you have to wind it up till 6k~7k then pull till screaming at 14 million gazillion rpm .. haha. who cares! i got my kodo do do do do do.... ps: anyone got aftermarket toys to let go?? preferably concerning making more noise and more noise. also more NOISE! sms me at 97811015. dont be shy.
  24. Finally got my MT-01. Saw an online ad a few hours ago and immediately went to the shop and dump the $ down. Collecting it tomorow. Phew... my search is finally over.. was very very very close to getting that B-king on sale in the garage sale section, even went to check it out, but... inline four? had enuf man. lucky this one came on sale! haha! God is definitely good! collecting tomorrow.. and on saturday morning going for a ride to mersing! Anyone care to join? Couple of friends and I. 2~6 people max. Nice crowd. no-so-young-anymore sort. Low key. But they ride quick as f#ck though .. out together, back together.. no man/woman/chicken/buffalo left behind type. Safe to say if u ride an MT, ur the sort who walks quietly but carries a big stick. So if u know of any younger squid racer type who rides a screaming supersports, don't invite them so its: 1) Pistol -MT-frickin-01! 2) ROMM- cbr thou 3) LAP - STX 4) Ngl- FZ1 5) naked young chick on a hayabusa & 2 camels in a tiny car! ....last one my imaginary friend la...
  25. yup. problem mannn.... I went HL yesterday and the guy tells me they've stopped bringing in the MT-01... .. that's it. the end. all over. other places in the world they get the red and white SP model with the ohlins shocks... and singapore gets the nothing zero nought model. Looks like have to parallel import if really interested.
