Truth be told, I really miss the XR400

As per title. I stopped riding for 5 years now (although I have been driving) and looking to get back to riding. Engine capacity is not an issue as I have a class 2 license. My biking experience is limited to mostly under-200cc bikes, with the exception of a XR400. I'm looking to get a smaller capacity (nothing over 600cc) bike to refresh my riding skills. Any recommendations? I'm fine with most types of bikes, however I like to get a manual bike thus like to avoid getting a scooter.
