yes changed oil filter, air filter and all spark plugs. Also replaced with a new ignition switch. Bike is working like charm and yes I am confident this will serve me well for another 10 years. Great Bike, good performance... bike is as smooth and feels like a new bike. Enjoying my daily rides for work and for pleasure.

Getting it done at a bike shop (Tune IN Motors) in Yishun. Opened up the entire engine and found all internal components are in good shape. Bike Shop quoted me SGD1300 for the Valve seals, spline shaft, overhaul gaskets, oil pipe, coolant hose, Throttle cable, Workmanship, front sprocket, transportation charges, Engine Oil and Coolant replacement. Will be collecting my bike tomorrow.

yes the engine is bullet proof and rocksolid, love the way it pulls through all the speed ranges. It worked and served me like a work horse and would get it rebuilt to its old glory. Yeah.. Impulse Rulez.. anyday better than the CB 400 I had owned in the past.

The main stand sheared off the chassis at one of it ends and was unstable dangling after I skidded at my carpark ramp, luckily did not fall off the bike I balanced myself to put back the bike to normal. This happened more than a year ago. I went to a nearby bike shop and they removed it. Now if I think about it I should have asked them to weld it back in place. Cheers.

Yes Patient enough with the thief because belongs to my own community ha ha... My bike broke down at a traffic signal luckily near my home yesterday. could not change gears lot of slippage of the chain and not responding to gear shifts. Was puzzled what went wrong? Was thinking if the sprocket conked of but chain was properly aligned. Suspected either gear box problem or something wrong with the transmission. Towed vehicle to a bike shop in Yishun. Chekced and found the front sprocket was slipping on the shaft. The shaft splines holding the front sprocket in place has worn off. Check with you guys any other options available to repair other than overhauling the engine to change the shaft. Bike shop asking me to Scrap this bike and buy their CB400 after topping up the balance. I want to know if any options like welding the sprocket to the shaft will solve this problem. Was thinking of over hauling but I am not sure if the bike will run back to its old glory again? Any ideas or suggestions welcome. Will update again.... untill next time. Cheers.

lol... that was an understatement or I should say an overstatement. This thread is still alive dude without around a dozen bikers still auto roaming or should I say world wide roaming around Singapore/Malaysia/Japan.

lol... better cover it always as it is neighbors envy owners pride. I am thinking of doing the same after recently finding many of the screws coming off mysteriously at odd places including main bolt off the shock absorber (my wife got the shock of her life after the seat suddenlu dislodged over a hump). I have caught the guy on my cctv camera pointing at the bike from home. I was surprised to know the guy (middle aged chap doing this mischief is a person known to me). I decided not to confront or take him to the police with the evidence I have gathered as I do not want to get him into problem. With recently my chain cover coming off and putting my life to risk... I am thinking hey man why pity with this guy or his family just call the shots when I catch him doing the mischief again. Anyways my cam is on recording mode 24X7 .. hope to catch this guy soon as he is screwing up with my life and my bike. As the saying goes "Different Strokes for Different Folks" -- don't let the culprit escape before he endanger more innocent bikers-.

Happy New Year Guys. Attached herewith picture of my bike as someone was interested to see how it looks .... lol the bike has not been washed for many year....Grrr.. . I have included photos of the old leaking original tank replaced with 2nd hand I purchased at Sugei Kadut spare part shop. Sad many people have been stealing screws from all corners and I need to be extra careful after I chain cover just came off recently at high speed after some sucker had removed the screws to steal it. Thank goodness I miraculously managed to stopping it corner from lane 1 to road shoulder in matter of seconds after alerting all motorists with a hands up signal. I had to discard the chain cover after it was damaged. Centre stand broke off after bike skidded on a wet carpark ramp ( still with me need to weld back, checked with many bike shop not able to fix. Metal works quoted 100 plus to fix but wants me to leave the bike at his workshop for 2 weeks). Ha ha can't survive without this bike as I need it for my daily rides.

planning to sell my impulse soon if I am taking up a permanent overseas assignment. Bike is in great shape... 100% uptime in the last 4 years I have been using it. Replaced front, back tyres (Last 2-5 months), New Chain (last month), replaced leaking Tank a year back (original tank had pin holes). Wonderful bike..... real charm to ride it at all speeds. COE valid till June 2023...... Bike has no centre stand, and chain guard. Looking for a decent price from one of the GSK 400 Impulse lovers.

thanks CSV.....will follow up the uncle at KS motor with the method you recommended .. Lol good one. Keep enjoying to ride this bike till you sell it cheers.

oh no where are you moving? Learnt so many things about this bike here. I just crossed 100000 Km on my speed, and I am not sure this is the first cycle or the 2nd cycle. When I took over the bike the reading was at 68K and in 4 yrs time I did another 32K+ on the total mileage. I still have a few more things to do on the bike. I gotta to fix back the centre stand, go to go soon to the bike fabricator you recommended. Plus I am looking for a replacement RPM meter, and those bulbs you mentioned for the indicator lights + temp+ headlight. Will go to to KS motor to check on these, but the uncle over there is hard of understanding simple english. Hopefully I find those light bulbs and then I will fix an appointment with SW750 to fix these + put the radiator fan switch might come in handy. Yesterday gave a the chase to a MF white car SJX 5588 E would have knocked me down, sucker over took me at 140+ from my left, luckily I pulled off in the last second seeing the headlights glaring instantly on my rear view. Luckily my bike was in great shape and gave this guy a chase to note down his license plate number. Currently seeing a lot of these road ragers creating havoc on the road and it gets worse nearing the Singapore F1 race. Suckers will end up killing innocent road users for no fault of their. Thinking of investing on a helmet camera to catch and report them to LTA after seeing a street racing clip on Youtube in KPE tunnel ha..

my bike is back in shape now.... after renewal of COE got the air filter, oil filter and engine oil changed. Engine overheating still seemed to be a problem. Got the bike shop in Yishun to change the flush out the coolant and replace with new. This time the bike mechanic was good and experienced, diagnosed the problem to be radiator cap and tuned the idling speed. Wow, the bike was back in shape. Smooth as before giving me 25 kmpl at speed of 100-120kmph. Lol the bike was ready to tease the CB 400's on the road ha ha ha....

yes, CSV now I am getting aroung 200km for the till the it hits reserve now with the new tyre. I used to get 230 to 250 when the bike was well tuned and I used to normally run 90-100 kmph with 80% of time on expressway. It was well tuned by the Guan Hoe mechanic about 2 yrs back. You will know the bike is running at its best efficiency when there is a humming sound coming from the engine between 80-100 range. My RPM meter was conked up when I got this bike, I had no reference to the RPM but used to go by the ear like tuning a guitar. I have never tried beyond 150kmph on this bike although I was still left with some more play on the throttle and that was with the new michellin tyre. Will do a few things like flushing the coolant, get the engine oil and oil filter changed along with the air filter. The bike has derated badly after the tyre change, and the chain adjustment. I was earlier thinking the engine heating up due to lack of coolant, cooling fan not working, bike dragging on the brakes etc.. and they all seem to be fine. Will get checked by Guan Hoe again.. mostly the bike shop mechanic has messed up on something. cheers.

thank you CSV for your quick and intellegent reply. I will gradually break in the new tyres as suggested by you. I am trying to going easy as the bike seems to have lost it's earlier power. I could easily do 120-150kmph on my old michellin tyre when I wanted a fun ride for short stretches or to tease a fellow biker trying to chase me on a CB400. Lol, many of them used to give up and start to appreciate this powderful meek bike which they later identify as an GSX 400 impulse. Now, to hit 110kmph it has been a big struggle for the bike. I normally do 80-100kmph now as the bike seem to respond and sound better in this range. I had similar power struggle the bike went through in the past, but the problem was solved when I replaced the air filter. It cost me about 45 bucks then at KS motors about 18-20 months back. The filter is long due for a change, I will get it changed in the next few days. Yeah, I will meet up with S750WP to get the bike tuned. I would love to get back the power and the mileage of 25-26 kmpl. Hope to catch up with you guys soon... cheers
