Oil filter for car is cheaper. Is it possible to do so? After all, it just about the filtering job. Shouldn’t have any impact to the engine right? Unlike using engine oil of car for bike

Anyone thinks it otherwise?

Not advisable...to use car oil filter..

conditions of use different from cars..

The most important conditions are:

particle size, flow rate, working pressure and bypass valve (setting)..

these are the major differences..if the same then of course no problems..

some inferior quality filter may break up...and tiny pieces of filter material qnd end up in your engine and this is very bad for hte engine..

Never argue with an idiot. They'll bring you down to their level and beat you with experience every time:dot:

Bro. thanks for sharing.

Agree. The difference is bike's engine is tuned in high rev but not for car's engine. High rev means high flow rate and high pressure and make break up the filter. That's the only concern.

Or anyone try before? The reason being is car filter can be as cheap as S$2.2 per no.!!

I have been using original Mazda car filter (cost $7.00) on my Honda VFR800i (cost $15.00) for years with no mechanical problems. It has in fact been documented on some pretty good webbbies that there are no reason why it cannot be used. here is an example: http://www.calsci.com/motorcycleinfo/Consumables.html.

In the following links, various filters are cut open and evaluated.
