HI,

I faced this problem of neutral light not lit when on switch. When I throttle then the light appear. I faced this problem b4 and have changed both battery and rectifier. After i change battery still got problem. then I change rect. Bingo. Problem was solved back then.

Now I face this problem again. But dun wish to change both. Izzit possible to

trace wether the problem is due to weak batt or the rectifier spoilt?

Still can ride. Just no horn.

Please advise. Thanks.

use a multimeter to check..

if the rect is ok, while the engine is running, the value is abt 13v.. higher rpm will give higher reading..

if batt spoil, the reading will be lower than 12v when u switch on the ign, engine not running..

Engine running meaning throttling?

If batt spoil, the reading less than 12V when switch on, less than 12V mean around where? 11+V?

Btw, u haven being call up for ICT yet?

check on your neutral sensor..sometimes false neutral can result in the above symptoms..

Never argue with an idiot. They'll bring you down to their level and beat you with experience every time:dot:

I got about 12.85V when my engine running.

I got around 11.40V to 11.65V when I switch on ign, engine not running.

So meaning my rect is ok, but my batt is weak. Btw last changed is 1 year plus ago.

engine running mean idling rpm..

when u throttle abit more like from 1k to 2.5k rpm,

the reading should increase.. but the max charging is at 15v. anything more than that can consider over charging..

:)

i got a letter say i transfer to HQ. no need ict at the moment..

try changing ur magnetic coil and c.d.i...cheers!

cdi spoil will cause irregular timing of spark fire or even no firing..

in this cause, is not cdi fault at all..

as for magnetic coil, i dun think is a problem since he mention the value is at the charging range..

is ok to share advise but not anyhow trial and error..

Hi Guys, I have two used Vulcan 1500A rectifier /regulator to let go at RM250-00 each excluding shipping. My vulcan had problem starting up even after a long ride and initially I thought was a faulty battery. After doing some reading on the forum, I realised that the fault lies in the rectifier/regulator as the battery was not being charged even when I was riding ...that drains the battery and caused the difficulty in starting up after even stopping for fuel.

The rectifier/regulator may fit other Vulcan models like VN750 as well but you need to check first.

PM me if you are interested.

Ride safe.............
