Thanks for the advise. I guess you are right, i should stop using it, maybe use it just to remove rust and then wash it with water. And after drying then coat it with some kinda of grease or oil? I got the oil/lubricant for fishing gears to help reduce corrosion, not sure if it will work well.

 

I asked quite a few motor tiam. Not many mentioned any street legal pipes, i quite relucent to change back to the stock pipe(which is lousy).

 

I saw the NHRC pipe by Tahin not sure if that street legal. Also there are quite a few nice looking SYM pipes from future scootering. Do you know if they are street legal?

 

Trying call the last few days, not answering maybe because of new year. Will call up the shops to find out more maybe next week. I guess my pipe will drop or break in 1-2 more years time. Just planning ahead, beside the pipe, I guess i got lucky and got a bike with no much issues.

 

ok im gonna buy this exhaust from malaysia. You interested to group buy with me? get future to install it for us. non road legal, but doesnt look as obvious as the NHRC one and future's aftermarket one. Apparently singapore dun have any legalized exhaust because no has bothered to get it registered. i wonder why taihin and future dun do the paperwork to get it legalized since the exhausts they are selling are made specifically for the sym gts.

not everyone got so much cash for 2b bike, since most of them who are interested in 2b sportsbike would be poor poly/ns lads. try asking them get a loan from any bike shop lo. your bike quite new, im sure a few shops would allow at least 3k loan.

I just go round and rounds in the island, found that GTS is a very smooth and relax bike,

even my son likes it too. thats why, I going to sell my spot bike, if anyone interested to get a Cagiva Mito 125 please let me know, price around 3.5K very good condition. top speed 190km/h.........

Hi ! gts 200 rider wat's the problem with my scooter? when start have to hold the trottle for a while and when the rpm reduced to 1000 it went down to 800 and stall. tried to increase the timing a little but when its hot the timing shoot up to 1500??? so wat's the ideal idling actually ? the choke its faulty ? or need to tune ?

GTS 200 idiling rpm should be around 1500 to 2000.... Nv go lower than 1500.... It will damage ur bike over long run... In the morning or during a cold start... our bike rpm will auto shoot up to a higher range.. This is due to an "auto choke" function with all scooters... This features will help u warm up ur scooter faster... Try to wait till the rpm return back normal first b4 u ride off.. This will ensure ur bike life can be prolong...

1. Original SYM GTS belt

2. Original SYM Rollers

3. Original SYM U-chip

4. Motul H-Tech Fully syn engine oil

5. Spark plug

6. Gear Oil

7. Cleaning of Transmissions & workmanship included

 

Hi otai60, where do you do your servicing?

i did my servicing for $180.. care to share?

 

Does any old birds know how to tighten the throttle? there is a "free play" of about 1/8 turning before i can actually reach the acceraleration, is this normal?

 

GTS200 for pick-up wise, quite good.. but i thinking to improve on the throttle respond

 

Pls give me your guidance, i new and learning, thanks!

I guess i will adopt the wait and see tactic. SYM and joyride has some bad rep in the past but overall its a great bike, I believe any good-minded business men will look at the flaws of GTS and see that is a good opp. We just need more SYM on the road haha.

gts has been on the roads for years already. many running around yet no vendors wanna pay the fees required to get an aftermarket exhaust.

ok.... Scooter usually have a wider free play area... This is actually a safety measure to prevent "accidentally throttle" errors... Imagine without gear and wat if u r not on the bike and u accidentally turn ur throttle abit... won't our bike go %#Q$@^

 

Acceleration wise, go get some better cluth n pulley system. Throttle tightening wise... Look for tai hin or future scootering ba... they are able to assist u...

by the way I got it $6300 without box, and my insurance is third party only my age 40+,

with 20% NCD, that why cheap cheap.

anyway 5.5k for the 7 months old GTS dosen't sounds cheap,

I rather pay extra 800 for a new bike, at least you are the 1 owner.

with one full year warranty
