im thinking of installing this to reduce turbulence over the windshield.

dont go so fast la haha. the boss of future told me to accelerate smoothly and try to cruise at 80-90km/h. if u want your stock exhaust to last 3 years

 

izzit?? ok ok.. so how abt my R.P.M?? when i go 100km, my RPM is 7.5 which mean my bike got power izzit??

at 100km mine also at 7.5, if u cruise at a speed where u can feel low freq vibration from your engine, you are already stressing the exhaust mounts. for me, vibration comes in at 101km/h. i dun want my exhaust to fall out one day so its AHM for me! ^^

im still chanting my AHM exhaust jingle and everyone ignores me lol. tp/rov wont bother uncle riding on scooter one la lol, inspection just send to future first to get it swapped?

 

curious, how much is the taihin NHRC exhaust? i know its different than future's one and i know kenny told me its around 500+ for the one future is selling. Taihin's? lemontree u know the price?

 

I've got no idea man but I'll surely call them up today or tmr to check cuz my exhaust is almost screwed man. FYI, the durability of aftermarket pipes and the non was told to me by Taihin.

lemontree, u wanna jus immediately try the AHM exhaust... since u getting illegal pipe, so whichever pipe also no prob right??? I pay for the AHM transport cost... Mind helping me test the AHM pipe???

hi bro, I don't mind but am worried of getting fined for using a non-legal pipe ley..yet on the other hand, my pipe is damn screwed liao. I'm worried riding at 100 on expressway and it falls off and hits the car(s) behind me...they'll claim my insurance for sure.

I wonder if it will break your windshield too. but the one thing that I'm very curious to know is how can those of us parking our bikes at HDB carparks ensure that no one will steal this installation off from our windshield if we were to install it?

Lol.... I will try to bring in max 3 exhaust initially only. 2 for testing and evaluation and lastly 1 for legal issue. Legal wise I believe it should cost much more than wat zyro has mentioned. If not there will be many many diff funny brand on the market le... I rather lose the cost for 3 exhaust if the exhaust is not up to standard than legalise it and then regret in the future. Lastly, pls dun treat me as a distributor. A distributor has the rights to distribute a certain product from a specific brand. I dun have the rights yet, only planning to discuss nia. For now I am only a fellow forum-ner trying to find an alternate source of quality exhaust for our SYM.

i think the malaysians have already thoroughly tested the exhaust on their GTS which is exactly the same as the one being sold in singapore. Hence you do not need to test it on our rides. You will need to go to VICOM in the west which has an emissions and sound testing lab. My friend at LTA knows the management there and can refer you to them. Im unsure of the pricing though for the tests, u might need to call them up.

 

AHM in malaysia has pipes for other brands of bikes/scooters too. maybe u can be distributor for their brand in singapore.

 

My friend has checked LTA database and currently there is NO legal pipe for sym gts in their records. hence if the AHM exhaust passes, it will be the firts legal aftermarket replacement pipe. (if you can sell it at a competitive price compared to the stock exhaust, im sure you will get a lot of sales as the stock one really SUx balls!)

Thanks zyrofillica, I understand this stock exhaust problem and would definetly keen to tap on the potential of AHM exhaust for our bike. I am trying to find time to either go up north or to wait for ad to come down south. I am also pending to wait for my friend who is a barrister in malaysia to view the whole process. I need a contract if I really am to be a distributor... I also need to register another business with Singapore too.

 

Lastly, I may just get it legalised and offer it in CMO first???? Cos actually the potential of the whole SYM market is still limited. BTW, I have gotten a deal to import in the original SYM exhaust from Taiwan direct. Any one interested can come find me. But must wait though... cos I am not doing through air freight... I am doing through normal air port passenger luggage method... So each trip can only accomodate one... I got people travelling to and fro Taiwan almost every 2 weeks. So if u all need anything can jus approach me. My fixed price is 40% above original taiwan price. 100% original but still cheaper than SG price. Price is open cos I am only helping and the 40% is needed to top up to my cousin in Taiwan. Cheers

Yeah... i did put race shield on my main light and the two side panel. It cost about 140 buck. I did enquire about the windshield. It cost about the same price as the surface area is = to the main & two side panel.

 

End of day i neber put raceshield on my windshield. Cause the cost of a new windshield is about 120++. so not worth. But i thinking of tinted my windshield like katana999's.

cost of gts new windshield much more than 120 ah. the oem shield is ex and hard to get and the aftermarket italy styled one is around $400 after shipping to sg. katanas tinted screen he also duno where to get it done, previous owner sold to him like that.

 

btw, digress abit, ive ordered a laminar lip universal 10" to attach to my windshield. cost me $165 after shipping. very ex but if it works its money well spent. since i find the turbulence wind noise over the windshield very loud. much much cheaper than installing the aftermarket of $400 and the good thing is, can transfer to other bikes/shields if want to.

 

i'll let u all know whats the review when i get it.

mine just wont work.....but sumtimes out of da blue its start to werk..then it goes numb again??
