hello, i am new here. I am a lady with 155cm tall. Thinking to buy a SYM excell II or fighter 150. I am 1st time to buy a bike. can pls advice me which is more suitable for me?

 

 

1) What should I ask from dealer?

bike Price ?

Coe Price ?

insurance price ?

interest rate ?

any early settlement fee ?

How much to fork out for deposit

 

2) How often need to maintence the bike?

For new bike, beside the running in of engine, every 3K change EO and 12K change belt.

 

3) what should i take note when i collect the bike?

It have to depend on the bike shop and you arrangment.

 

4) what is the main concern to decide which to buy? eg, power? fuel consumption?

Neither... if this your first bike, consider it as a learning stage. Fuel and power is of no concern.

Most important is to build up your riding skill and road wise.

 

5) Is SMY only sold at Mah?

No, Mah is main, the remain bike shop still get from Mah. But price, i recommend you get from others.

hi Katana999, what do you mean by "tunning"? My bike is 2 months old, everything stock. Please advise, will have it checked.

 

Manual says if air filter dirty, FC will up. But mine is a 2 months bike only, air filter should be clean ah.

 

my riding style should be correct, passed TP with high score..

oh! ur bike's only 2mths old? okok no wonder.. how much mileage have u covered? try not to hit above 80km/h during running in too... During this period the FC will be quite bad but it will only be for now so not to worry. Tuning is the air/fuel ratio that can be tuned at ur carburetter but since its new shld be as it is so dun worry abt it.

My mileage is 1500KM, should be inside the running in phase still? Sometimes I can speed up till 100KM, but for testing only, only last a few seconds. I will get a log book and start to analysis too.

my fc is +/- 28km/l. but i accelerate quickly and usually have a pillion. but usually travel at 90-100 km/h. rpm seldom exceed 7k.

 

after run in if u still get 25km/l with conservative riding then only u should worry.

im thinking of selling my GTS 200. its 5 yr old, registered dec 2005. I am the 2nd owner. (1st owner use for less then 1 yr)

have full sound system installed (some speaker meshing is drop down already, but sure can easily fix/replace). + pollini clutch + loud2 horn (forgot what brand). also got alarm actually, but not sure still working or not. I disabled it 2 yrs a go since thinking its no use...

FC is very good. around 9.5l for 350km. (for riding mostly on expressway. I travel from tampines to woodland for work)

engine everything no problem. engine oil, belt etc always changed religiously, and I also just change the seat. (original seat the foam become thin already...).

 

one downside is I never really take care of external look. so its not shiny shiny new anymore, but still look good i think. all the dirt etc sure can wash one lah...

 

any bro/sis interested can pm me with offer.

 

@ronnie: i changed my seat at sin boon motor @northlink building there. but they bring in the seat in from somewhere else. I got it from them since its near my workplace, convenience for me.

I think any motortiam with access to distributor can help you order.

mine fc 34km/L. full tank till light on about 350km easily.

Yr bike will only runs in after the 1st 3000km...so join the SYM member to JB often then you can achieve the run in faster...

Hello guys, few question.

 

1) What is the capacity of the GTS200's fuel tank (Actual + reserve)? I briefly checked on internet, and it states 8.5L? But somehow I managed to pump in 9+ over litres.

 

2) What is the capacity of the reserve tank?

 

3) I need to bend down and use a mini torch when I top up petrol. Also the nozzle can't go in fully because there is a metal strip blocking the nozzle half way down the opening. Is there a better way to top up?

i ever tried top up abt 12L+ when the reserve light just on~

i also wanna know waz is the fuel tank size of this bike...

just got this bike 2 weeks+ ago... bought it 2nd hand wif high mileage(2 years+ at 95k km!!!!!!!!!) (nv notice when viewing the bike... sigh...)

so far serve me well... replace all belt, roller, cluthes, radiator resevoir tank(all mud water inside!)...

I never do run in, just ride like old bike, 1st day chiong over 100km/h liao wor...

 

At 1st I want to do run in one, but I read taiwan forum, they said new fighter got ecu chipset, will record biker riding style. If run in, this bike next time cannot run -_-..... but seems quite true, cos alot ppl were discussed about this topic.

 

So from the 1st day till now I ride the same way =)
