broken gear lever ? might as well get the rearsets from akront.. "Bang for buck" deal.. if only one side, take out the fairing and respray loh.. cheaper than spraying whole bike if u on a budget.

Monday bike jerk badly wen moving off. Nope length is the only difference. The F4i shock is around 15-20mm longer than the F4 which makes it just a bit too long for the CBR400. The F4 shock is just right.

jerks like hell... in e end have to service carb.... after that ok liao.... I thought that

 

STP thing will help remove e dirt, ya it removes, but at the same time clogged up

nvr done anything, juz rev my bike after it hits reserve den prob comes liao. juz full service my carb last mth lor. suspect the mech did not did a good job lor, cost me 300 including spark plug, engine oil and air filter. if gona flush my tank or service my carb gona cost a bomb again....

tis sat my fren will bring me find those lao jiao mech lor. wat ah soon la, ah hock la....alot of 'ah beng' la oso duno whu. say either unity or motoworld or alexandra, duno which to go too. but prob is duno my bike shld do carb service or tank flush. Maybe go for cheaper wan 1st and see how.....

hey buddy i had this scenario before as well

 

changed the plugs to iridium less than 2 weeks the bike became jerky like what ya described

 

mech changed whole set of plug cords, tune carbs also cannot bopian take out the plugs to check by the looks of it nothing abnormal

 

then he said why not use $8*4=$32 to find out true enough the bloody plugs were the culprit spot on

 

all it takes was 1 plug to cause havok on our ride

 

$70 less than 1 month went into drain

hmm, so far the only places I trust with my bike is K & T Clifford at Ubi and Ah Hock at Combine Motor..

ya not reading right im saying fish out $32 dollars to change 4 spark plugs first

 

my hunch says that the ride mis-firing due to the faulty plugs although maybe less

 

than a month old

STP can only do so much and its not magic potion cannot subsitute carbs servicing

 

its more on preventive maintenance

 

anyway to maximise the effects of STP would be nice to clear carbon once top up

 

with it

Try changing to a new set of spark plugs lor, get the cheapest ones, SGD$4.50 Ea.

yo bro, you can try to ask your mech to check the petrol pump contact to see whether it is worn out anot. mine got this jerking problem few months ago and the mech found out that the petrol pump contact about to worn out liao causing intermitten petrol delivery to the carbs... :goodluck:

ok guys ..thx for all the great advises. juz went to fix back my original endcan. bike less jerky liao run much smoother than before. but as rpm increases above 6-7k, bike begins to jerk abit. power can say lost alot liao. pickup oso not as fast as before, pipe sound of coz no more too. so shld i set back my oil and pilot jets to accomodate the original pipe or shld find out the main cause and use the modified pipe again?

 

PS: some modification was done wen i fix the modified pipe. eg:oil jet, air jet and duno still got do wat. power increase tremendously during the period but causing the prob i having now. the pipe is L model and my bike is RR model.

I juz had my moviestar paint work done one mth ago so its not possible to respray, anyway how much you pay for the rearsets?
