The thermostat housing?

Btw, my fan only on at temp3/4.

say instead of leakage would be the thermostat not working correctly ??

thus affecting the water flow plus fan activation

another money saving method would removing the thermostat

althogether :cheeky:

Espy, buy R1 already?Which Yr and how much?.Btw how much is yr insurance?

Me also lookin around,if insurance too high maybe will get 600. But my blade will stay.... :cheer:

my insurance is in excess of 1400 after 10% NCD, 3rd Party + Fire and Theft.

All insurance for sportsbike are high irregardless of Capacity, if u want low. then u have to get a non-fairing bike instead.

If u want track action with plenty of cash to burn, get a 600.

Maybe can try filsh all ur coolant and wash ur radiator outside surface?

The outside surface should be clean 4 better heat transfer.

Takin out thermostat is not good either 4 normal commutin, cause your bike need and will perform at its best operating temp.

But having to top up every 2 days is not a good sign.

u already said it's touring with straight road with litre bikes, of cos u will be behind them.. 1000-600 = 400cc of Difference.

2002 is Yamaha R1 First Fuel Injected Bike, Lighter with Low revs being more peaky than the 04 onwards. 2003 is pretty much the same bike, less the paintwork difference and that 2002 has Headlight On/Off switch.

2004 onwards, U gotta love Hi-revving the bike. :goodluck:

U should ask this in Yamaha thread, this is after all a Babyblade thread. V rude, u noe.. pls dun :gun: me.

correction, 2003 R1 has Hazard lights, which u on/off (Hazard lights = Both Signal Indicators Flashing)

CBR,RVF only has the forever "ON" hazard lights with no switch to on/off or flash them on/off.

2002 R1 does not have the hazard lights function but has the function to on/off their headlights.

CBR,RVF hazard lights is completely different from the R1s.

Only S4 vtec onwards has the Hazard lights to on/off. (Both Signal Indicators Flashing)

Gear change all ok?

flush n clean the radiator already... in tip top condition but last only for 2 days... then hot again.

bout once every 3 weeks i'll top up thru the radiator. every 2 days is thru my coolant reservooir, also known as the container.

Gear change... on move ok lo... coming to stop at traffic light sometimes kick down feels like already in 1st gear. gotta play with my clutch then can kick down.

my problem is my coolant pipe got hole but my temp was ok fo mi not easily hot.... for ur case if going at the speed of 80/90km still will go above 1/2 mean something wrong liao... it will go above half only when we move off using 1st, 2nd gear if at 6thgear going at the speed of 80km should be 1/4 no matter afternoon or nite... so i think u try asking different bike shop c what they say... but i guess most mech will say old bike probem

thermostat opens at 80-84 degs without installing it but with local climate runnin at

30-34 degs our baby blades operating hot enough

mine removed with temp needle at 'M' in city commuting or at 'T' on highway

cruising under afternoon conditions ( maxima coolaide and distilled water )

clutch plates linnings or cable attribute to smoothness of gear shifting nothing to

do with temp of ride :nono:

6 gear cruising at night will be cooler than day :thumb:
