bros here i got doubts about downgrading of bike.please help.

i will be enlisting into army in 4 months time.

currently riding a rvf but still having installment with the bikeshop.

intending to downgrade to a kup.

so is it possible for me to 'push' the bike to the bikeshop and get a kup from the same bikeshop?

It is always possible when money is involved. You will need to check with the shop first on how much they are willing to take back the bike and how much will the installaments be for the new ride. We are not the bikeshop, so dunno how they will react.

The details that you provide are not enough, so we gotta make some assumptions:

Outstanding amount of loan for RVF: $4000

Price of kup: $2000

The calculation of the finance is based on this simple formula: Price of kup - (Take in price of RVF - Outstanding amount)

Scenario 1

Bike shop takes in your RVF at $3000.

Based on the formula above, calculation works out to be: $2000 - ($3000 - $4000) = $2000 - (-$1000).

In this scenario, you either need to pay-up the $1,000 outstanding from the RVF, and get a $2000 loan for your kup, or the bike shop might let you roll over the $1000, and you need to get $3000 loan in total.

Scenario 2

Bike shop takes in your RVF at $5000

Calculation works out to be $2000 - ($5000 - $4000) = $1000

This $1000 will be the amount that you need to loan for your kup, or you can choose to pay up the $1000 and ride your kup away.

Note that the above calculations are just simple calculations. There are still other variable components that are not added in, like insurance, transfer fee, road tax, agreement fees, kopi lui and what not.
