Engine Swapping

Hi senior bikers, I am just a dude riding ZX-2R and current location is Cameron Highlands.

 

Well, today i just broke something within my engine. Probably it will be con-rod, piston head or the bearing clip sort of. . This might require an major engine rebuilt.

 

So far as i know, Singapore do have ZX400R similiar to European market. Chassis and body parts more or less the same thus is it possible to get a scrap or used engine from Singapore and swap it up. ?

 

250cc to 400cc ...

U would probably gonna need a lot of stuff changed. CDI, wiring harness. Engine mounts. Not sure if it fits nicely in your current frame. U gotta do up your research and "If's and What's" before swapping.

 

eg:

what if the final drive dun align properly.

what if the air box cant fit under the tank.

what if the CDI dun function the same.

what about ignition? does it work with current system?
