Just wanna share an experience with all those bikers out there.

Rather than buy a new helmet after a while , changing of the inner cushion will help you save money at the same time.

Just got mine done at Eugene Saddlery , must really say his helmet cushion job is really fantastic.

I opted for the ultra thick lining for my old Mfizz Evo 2 helmet , its definitely way better than the original lining , just ask Eugene to use the most comfortable cushion he has.

I also got him to remove the existing chin strap and make me one new one- with an integrated clip and new D-rings.

Thumbs up for him :thumb:

But before I forget , I don't know what will happen if the TP sees you riding without the D-rings attatched , mine just has the clip attatched.

From riding experience , the rings will be quite irritating since you don't make use if it once the strap is installed !:cheeky:

To start this project off , I began with my LAB helmet , which in my opinion has one of the best inner lining for budget helmets and it only cost $25

I found the chin strap too long , far too long and too time consuming to thread it through the D-rings everytime I ride. The clip attatched was the best alternative solution.

And finally the complete product. I'm not too sure what TPs will say if they ever saw a helmet without the D-rings but so far I haven't been caught yet

Next up: Mfizz Evo 2- the helmet is okay with the fiberglass construction shell , just that I found the inner cushion too uncomfortable. For this project , I asked Eugene to to re-modify the existing strap. He had to remove the rivets on the side of the helmet and re-stitch a brand new strap for me too.

The inner padding was extremely comfortable , its comparable to that of an Arai or Shoei-comfort wise , was really happy with Eugene's work , its really good

For the Mfizz or LAB helmet the original cushion is non-removable , as in you can't remove the cushion ; wash it and re fit it back into the helmet. For the cushion done at Eugene's place , you can change it as an when you want to , hope that helps ! :cheeky:
