Hi all, I just got a Pulsar 180 UG3 second hand. After riding it for a few days I noticed that the idle speed is high, around 2000rpm when the engine had been warmed up after riding for several kilometres. When I first start the bike cold after a night in the carpark, the idle is around 1100 to 1200rpm. I dug around and found out that the correct idle speed for the bike should be 1300rpm plus minus 100rpm when the engine is warmed up (engine oil above 50 degrees C).

Now this doesn't look like much of a problem since cruising on the highway gave me no problems. But it bothers me that something on the bike is not adjusted properly or is faulty, not to mention it's a waste of fuel if I am stuck in a traffic jam where I would stop often. So anyone knows what might be the problem and is there anything that I can adjust to solve the problem?

And also where can I get a copy of the Pulsar workshop repair manual? Thanks in advance.

i think the previous owner is facing a hard time in starting the engine..and he has increased the idling to compensate for the problem...

yeah get a mech to fix it..i think this a case of hard starting..could be many reasons..

could be asimple case of bad plugs to dirty air filter..good luck.

Never argue with an idiot. They'll bring you down to their level and beat you with experience every time:dot:
